• Ep 6 It’s Never Too Late To Start w/Wanda Sommerfeld
    Oct 18 2022

Wanda is one of those women in my life who is an absolute inspiration....and she's a firecracker! LOL In her late 50's Wanda noticed it was getting harder to do day to day activities like the stairs. She joined a cross fit gym and that's where it all began for her. I met Wanda in 2019 when she decided she wanted to give powerlifting a try and I was lucky enough to get to spend time training(and still do) and competing alongside her. Give her story a listen and how she got to hold World Records!

  • Ep 4 Lifting as an Amputee Athlete/Jeannie Stewart
    Sep 20 2022

I had the absolutely pleasure of speaking with the tenacious badass woman! Jeannie talks about the trials and errors of training and competing with a prosthetic arm. As one of the very few athletes in powerlifting with her particular amputation she is paving the way for others. She expresses gratitude for the support from War Amps and World Para Powerlifting.

This is my own personal plug, War Amps have been providing a key tag service since 1946. Don't know what that is please go check it out! https://www.waramps.ca/pdf/english-site/media/quick-facts/key-tag-quick-facts.pdf

  • Ep 3 Deadlifts and Bourbon w/Penny Hadgeoff
    Sep 6 2022

Well technology tried to keep us apart but as the tenacious women we are we finally prevailed! I don't even know where to start, chatting with Penny was like sitting down with a long time friend to catch up. This amazing woman programs for the US Military at Fort Jackson (I love how they are more focused on the Mind, Nutrition and Recovery not just the body) She is the first lifter I have ever met that takes a shot of Bourbon before deadlifting...take that nose tork!
