    Sep 16 2024

Hey y’all, and welcome back to another episode of This is for Us. As always, I am so freaking excited and thankful that you’re here with me today.

Do you ever find yourself wondering what guys are really thinking? Are they checking out our outfits or just there for the beer? Today, I’m so excited because we’re doing something totally new—our very first interview episode! I’ve gathered three single, successful guys in their 20s to ask all the burning questions you sent in about love, dating, and everything in between. From whether they notice the shoes we obsess over, to how they feel about ghosting, you’re about to get an honest look into the male mind.

    In This Episode:

    • Are Guys Really Paying Attention? What goes through their minds when they’re out with their friends? Are they noticing us or just there for the fun?
    • Ghosting, Texting, and Games: Why do some guys take hours (or days) to reply? Is it a game, or are they just not that into you?
    • First Impressions: What actually matters to them when they meet someone new—outfit, personality, or both?
    • Social Media and Relationships: How they handle the temptation of Instagram and why they think social media is ruining relationships.
    • Marriage and The "Right" Age: When do guys really start thinking about settling down, and why age 30 feels like a deadline.

Today, I’m talking all about self-love, the way we speak to ourselves, and why beating yourself up will never get you the life or the body you dream of. We all have those moments where we’re standing in front of the mirror, tearing ourselves apart, but I’m here to remind you that negativity will never create beauty. Only love, gratitude, and light can do that.

We’re also celebrating the little things, like Halloween decorating and choosing gratitude for the small joys in life. So, grab your favorite fall drink and let’s chat!

    Key Takeaways:

    • Love, Not Hate, Creates Change: You can’t beat yourself up and expect a better outcome. Choosing love and gratitude is what will bring real transformation.

    • Gratitude is a Game-Changer: Whether it’s your arms that jiggle or the cellulite on your legs, start thanking your body for all it does for you. Shift your mindset from criticism to appreciation.

    • Romanticize Your Life: Find joy in the everyday moments—whether it’s your morning coffee or the beautiful fall weather. Gratitude for the small things will magnetize more positivity into your life.

    • We All Have the Power to Choose Light: We can’t always control the cards we’re dealt, but we can control how we respond to them. Choosing gratitude, love, and light will make your heart more peaceful and your life more fulfilling.

  • 49. Following your own timeline, making the right decisions, and silencing the pressure from society
    Sep 2 2024

Hey y'all, and welcome back to another episode of This is for Us. I'm so glad you're here with me today. This week’s episode is one that hits close to home for me. After asking for your topic suggestions on Instagram, one of you sent in something that truly resonated with me: the struggle of prioritizing your career and professional life when society pressures us to get married and start a family.

This is something I’ve personally dealt with and have seen so many women in my life navigate. In this episode, I dive into how to trust your own timeline, the importance of living life on your own terms, and why you shouldn’t let societal expectations dictate your path. Whether you're single, married, childless, or have a house full of kids, this episode is for you. We're all on different journeys, and it’s time we start celebrating our individual paths instead of comparing them to some made-up standard.

    Key Takeaways:

    • Trust Your Timeline: Only you know what's right for you. Don’t force anything because you think it’s “normal” or what society expects.

    • Live for Yourself: Pursue your own dreams and build a life you love. If someone comes along who adds to that, great—but you don’t need to rely on anyone else to create the life you want.

    • No Decision is Wrong: Every choice we make builds the life we're meant to live. There’s beauty in learning from every experience, even those that don’t turn out the way we expected.

    • The Grass is Green Where You Water It: Don’t compare your life to someone else’s. Focus on making your life as fulfilling as possible, right where you are.

  • 48. Find your magic again: ways to navigate feeling lost, how to answer the question “Who am I?”, and learning how to get to know yourself in every season of life.
    Aug 26 2024
Hey y'all, welcome back to another episode of "This is for Us." I’m so glad you’re here with me today, and I hope wherever you are, whatever you’re doing, you’re having a beautiful day. Today’s episode is inspired by a question one of you sent in, and it really touched my heart. It’s all about that feeling of being stuck in a rut—feeling like you’ve lost the person you used to be. I know this feeling so well, and I think many of us can relate. So, I want to dive deep into how we can find our magic again, how we can reconnect with who we are, and how we can move forward even when we feel lost. Important Links for Connection: Link to FREE Quote Journal: Quote Journal Join the Facebook group here: This Is For Us Follow me on Instagram here: Noël Roberts Coley To order Clearstem visit: clearstem/noëlcoley Code for Clearstem: NOELCOLEY Drop a note on my website: noëlrobertscoley.com Key Takeaways: Recognize Where You Are: The first step to finding your magic again is admitting that you feel lost or disconnected. It’s okay to acknowledge that you’re not the same person you once were. Recognizing this is so important in the journey of rediscovering yourself. The Magic Lies in the Work: The magic you’re looking for can often be found in the work you’re avoiding. It takes effort, discomfort, and honest self-reflection to pull yourself out of a rut, but it’s so worth it. Are You Really Lost?: Sometimes, I think we’re not really lost—we’re just changing. Instead of trying to find the old version of ourselves, we should focus on discovering and embracing who we’re becoming. Mourning the Old You: It’s natural to miss the old version of yourself, especially when you feel disconnected from the life you once had. But instead of mourning the past, let’s focus on adapting to our new circumstances and redefining what makes us happy and fulfilled. Rediscovering Who You Are: I’m sharing some reflective questions in this episode to help you get to know yourself better. These questions are designed to help you identify what makes you happy, what qualities you value, and how you can bring back aspects of your old self into your current life. Identifying Obstacles: It’s so important to recognize obstacles or negative patterns that may be getting in the way of your happiness. We need to address these issues head-on and make the changes we need to move forward. Finding Inspiration in Others: I believe we can look to those who inspire us and take small, actionable steps to embody the qualities we admire in them. Even the smallest changes can make a big difference in our lives. Embrace the Season You’re In: Each season of life comes with its own challenges and opportunities. By being present and embracing who we are now, we can keep our magic alive, no matter how much our lives change. Practical Steps to Rediscover Your Magic: I’m sharing practical advice on how to rediscover your magic, including always having something to look forward to, surrounding yourself with positive people, and feeding your brain with hope and positivity. You’re Not Alone: Remember, you’re not alone in feeling lost or disconnected. We all go through phases of self-doubt, and by sharing our journeys, we can find support and encouragement from each other. Reflective Questions from the Episode: 1. When do you feel the most happy? 2. When do you feel the most like yourself? 3. What qualities do you most associate with yourself right now? 4. What qualities do you love the most about yourself? 5. What do you value most in life? 6. What’s changing in your life that might be affecting how you see yourself? 7. What’s something you think about often but don’t like to talk about? 8. What has gotten in the way of what you want most for yourself? 9. Who do you want to be? 10. What do you really enjoy? • 47. 7 things I wish someone had told me the day I started college
    Aug 19 2024

Hey y'all, and welcome back to another episode of "This is for Us." As always, I’m thankful you’re here with me today. This episode is especially close to my heart because I’m sharing the seven things I wish someone had told me the day I started college. Whether you’re just starting your college journey, already graduated, or are far past that season, these life takeaways are valuable for anyone. Let’s dive in.

    Key Takeaways:

    1. Embrace the Unexpected: Life rarely goes as planned, especially in college. Don’t waste time trying to have everything figured out. The best experiences often come from the unplanned moments, so live fully and trust the journey.

    2. Be a Little Irresponsible: College is the time to have fun and be a little reckless—within reason. Stay up late, go to the party, and make memories. Just remember to balance fun with your responsibilities.

    3. Follow Your Own Path: Don’t choose a major or make decisions based on what others expect from you. Follow your heart and pursue what truly interests you. And remember, you can always change your mind—it’s okay to pivot.

    4. Put Yourself First: Always make decisions with your well-being in mind. Dress for yourself, not for others, and go out to have fun without worrying about what others think. Your self-worth isn’t tied to someone else’s opinion.

    5. Learn to Manage Overwhelm: College life can be overwhelming with all the responsibilities. You will get through it. Take it one step at a time and don’t be afraid to have a meltdown—just don’t stay there too long.

    6. Avoid the Mean Girl Trap: Stay out of drama and be kind to everyone. Focus on being a great friend and avoid the negativity. Surround yourself with positive influences and know who your true friends are.

    7. Cherish Your College Experience: These years will fly by. Embrace every moment, the ups and downs, and make the most of this time. Remember, it’s a time to find yourself and create lasting memories.

Facing Tough Weeks: Learning to Trust Again and Overcoming Self-Doubt

In this episode, I discuss how a difficult week made me question myself, my work, and my dreams. I talk about the internal battles we face, especially when we're not feeling our best, and how important it is to push through those moments of doubt.

    Key Points:

    • Being Honest About Hard Times: Sometimes, life throws us curveballs, and it's okay to admit when we're struggling. This week was one of those times for me, but I’m sharing it because I know I’m not alone in feeling this way.

    • Learning to Trust Again: A listener asked a powerful question about how to trust someone after they’ve hurt you. I explore the complexities of forgiveness and trust and whether it’s possible to fully trust again after being burned.

    • Self-Doubt and Overcoming It: When we’re down, it’s easy to fall into old patterns of negative self-talk. I share my experience of battling these thoughts and how a conversation with a friend reminded me of the importance of what I’m doing with this podcast.

    • Choosing Forgiveness: I discuss the importance of making conscious choices—whether it's forgiving someone who’s hurt you or deciding to move on from a situation that no longer serves you.

    • The Power of Community: A reminder that we're all in this together. When one of us is struggling, we can lift each other up. This community is a place for real talk, support, and growth.

    Aug 5 2024

Hey, y'all, and welcome back to another episode of "This is for Us." As always, I'm so thankful that you're here with me. This week, I'm coming to you from the beautiful Panama City Beach, Florida, where I'm reflecting on a journey that started here a year ago.

    Reflections from the Beach

In this special episode, I share an emotional and inspiring story about how a year ago, while floating in the ocean, I dreamt of becoming a podcaster. Today, I sit in the same spot, but this time as a proud podcaster, recording an episode with the waves in the background. It’s a reminder of how much can change in just a year when you follow your dreams and take that first step.

    Key Takeaways:

    • The Power of Starting: Whether you have a clear plan or not, the most crucial part of any journey is just to start. Even if you're scared or unsure, taking that first step can lead to amazing places.

    • Overcoming Fear: I share candid moments of self-doubt and fear, including stories of feeling overwhelmed and not knowing what I was doing. These experiences remind us that it's okay to feel scared and unsure—what matters is pushing through those fears.

    • Embracing Imperfections: From technical hiccups to emotional challenges, this episode is about embracing imperfections and being real. Whether it’s the ding of a computer or a moment of self-doubt, it's all part of the journey.

    • Commitment to Yourself: The importance of committing to your dreams and keeping your word to yourself. I reflect on how fulfilling it feels to follow through on a promise you make to yourself.

  • 44. Let's get real: talking about the hard things part 2
    Jul 29 2024
Hey, y'all, and welcome back to another episode of This is for Us! Last week, I started talking about a paragraph one of y'all submitted, and I had a feeling I’d get emotional and vulnerable. I ended up splitting it into two parts because I didn't want to overwhelm you with a super long episode. So, if you're just tuning into part two, make sure to listen to part one first. It's amazing! The Paragraph That Started It All: Here’s the paragraph that got this little mini-series started: “This is not really a question, but one of the most impactful podcasts from you has been on heartbreak. At almost 40, sometimes I still think I'm all alone in how I felt most of my life. But hearing how you went through all of the emotions, hurt and betrayal, helped me realize I wasn't alone. Knowing that people who seem perfect still deal with the hard things has given me a new look at my past and, in some parts, set me free. I could have really used that talk when I was 20. I'm interested in hearing about the hard things. Or things people are scared to talk about.” Rapid-Fire List of Hard Things (Part 2) So today, I’m diving back into the list of hard things I’ve faced. These are the real, raw struggles that have shaped me. Wanting to Be Successful Without a Clear Definition What does success mean to you? Is it your definition or someone else’s?I realized that success should be defined by the person living it, not by societal standards or family expectations. Confronting Societal Expectations I shared my story of breaking off an engagement because I knew it wasn’t right, even though it went against societal norms.Trusting your intuition and following your own path can lead to a life that truly makes you happy. The Influence of Early Messages Growing up, I received conflicting advice: marry a rich man vs. never depend on a man. It’s crucial to decide which messages to hold onto and which to let go of. The Emotional Impact of Family Dynamics Hearing my mom criticize herself was tough. It made me realize the generational cycle of self-criticism.It’s important to break this cycle and foster self-love and acceptance. The Pressure to Conform Whether it’s drinking, doing drugs, or hanging out with the wrong people, the pressure to conform can be overwhelming.Knowing yourself and making choices that align with your values is essential, even if it means standing alone. Reflecting on My Journey Throughout this journey, I’ve learned that it’s okay to define success on my terms and follow my unique path. It’s okay to confront societal expectations and trust my intuition. And it’s okay to let go of harmful messages and embrace self-love. Join the Conversation I’d love to hear your thoughts on this episode. Did any of these points resonate with you?
