Summary

The Glasgow Orchestra are rehearsing to perform, but little do they know of the sequence of events happening backstage. When George Millar, the orchestra's leader, is brutally murdered in his dressing room, his colleagues are shocked. But the show must go on. Enter DCI Lorimer and psychologist Solomon Brightman to investigate.

What they uncover is a series of irrevocably tangled relationships between the orchestra members. Up until his death Millar had been involved in homosexual relationships with several other orchestra members and was well known for playing his lovers off against one another - but were his controversial dalliances really enough to incite cold-blooded murder?

Glasgow polis

I thought it was a good listen. There were some buts starting with narrator's tone which was a bit flat and induced some boredom. The story was such that I had to listen to the end - who killed whom and why? would our man get his man and get away for Christmas?

The trouble with series or saga is you have to keep listening!

One of my favourite series of books

This was an enjoyable read, perhaps not the best in the series but well worth reading. It was an interesting plot beautifully read by Joe Dunlop. This series of books is one of my favourites, the characters are well drawn and likeable and the plots are always believable and relevant.

DCI Lorimer - shadow of sound

Another cracking story centred in Glasgow. The storyline kept going tight to the end making it difficult to guess the murderer - just how I like it.

Narration is improving with each book but I feel a more youthful voice for Dr Brightman would enhance the story further.

Good gripping mystery

Really good listen. Good story line that follows through. Looking forward to next book.
