Bit miffed with the author!!

Living in East Lothian as I do Macmerry to be precise, I find the depressing description of Tranent and Macmerry to be over done to say the least!! I have to admit that like any other town Tranent does have its run down areas, but it also has very nice homes inhabited by very nice people!! Other than that, I enjoyed the book and will be looking out for more of her works.

Hmmm

Not sure if this just wasn’t my cup of tea or the narrator wasn’t to my liking. Wasn’t the worst book I’ve ever listened to, but not great.

Good story

I like stories about Edinburgh and the surrounding area. Being from Edinburgh I always like to read books on the subject and crime novels are great. This is the first of a series I will look forward to reading although set over a decade ago it has aged well. I am always surprised at how long it takes me to find such authors. Th plot kept me interested throughout and I was guessing almost to the end. no long rambling explanations or descriptions of Edinburgh which tire me when having to listen to all that. so thanks for that. thanks also to the narrator who makes the characters come to life. I look forward to the next adventure for Alice.
