Dan and Gaunt.....unstoppable
Starts off at a nice easy pace a and slowly gathers pace to an excitable battle (no shock there) but a nice twist at the end to make the journey highly worthwhile, you won't be disappointed. Toby Longworth at his best.

A collection of short stories
This is not really a novel rather a collection of shorts which I found a little disappointing. The writing however is still typically Abnett with superb narration by TL.

Toby Longworth is amazing.
Each character get his or her own voice. Their own accent.
Toby doesn't just read the pages in front of him, he acts them out.

Ever enjoyable do sometimes staggering
The book itself is good, the story is fun, the characters endeering the moments memorable. From the underestimated brag procing his worth to Larking being Larking. It is more of the good stuff. But it lacks much of a cohesive story and instead of following a plot it more or less follows a series of stories about the ghosts. Near the end it gets a bit of a plot and one of the best chapters and a few of my favourite moments from all the books i have read happen. But in the end i got stuck a lot, the lack of plot makes it so you dont feel the need to return to know how it ends. When you start a chapter chances are that you wanna finish it straight away as the chapters are very well written and provide great, fun, interesting and often funny stories. zthere(german sthere intended) is something endeering about the ghosts more or less working themselves in an inescapleble situation to then come out of it against all odds and sometimes on purpose or not winning the battle before the rest of the imperial army can advance. It is a good book, well worth a credit. Read it, but i hope the next few bools will be better even do this one was good
