Great education

The author did a good job in putting this audiobook together. Although still quite young, it was really interesting to learn how our body changes as we age into seniors. It’s a step by step guide demonstrating exercises that seniors can do which can make them feel younger, healthier and stronger. Well researched information and definitely a must read!

Great Voice for the Book

This is a true book for seniors and exercise. The book addresses body changes, safety, and bone health. Balance, energy, and confidence are typically the main concerns for seniors versus vanity. I was happy that the author included weekly workout plans. Good book for seniors. This is also a really good read for anyone who teaches exercise classes with senior attendants.

A NEW LEASE ON LIFE!

All of us begin noticing the weight creeping up, the flexibility creeping down, and the many little grievances that begin to compete for our attention as we age.
In this valuable book, author Jackie Jacobs has really done her research (just take a glance at the bibliography in the accompanying PDF!) I imagine others are like me in that they don’t relish the thought of exercise, of the effort, and the little pains that come along with it. Ms. Jacobs helps de-mystify the fallacies that surround exercise for seniors and presents a very doable, practical series of exercises that can be tailor-made to your personal circumstances. Besides gently easing into your exercise program by beginning exactly where you are, she goes on to cover the basics of the age-old formula for good health: diet, rest, and exercise. Her insights and tips are both valuable and practical.
I particularly liked the fact that the majority of these simple exercises can be done at home, without investing in all kinds of equipment. Narrator Lynnda Nelson does a lovely job of pacing and articulating the information, making for a very pleasant listen.
I have begun incorporating a number of the exercises outlined in this book into my daily regimen, and can tell you that they work! It’s surprising to me how such comparatively small efforts can render such immediate and noticeable rewards.
If you’re in that senior age group or have a mom or dad that is, “Fitness Freedom for Seniors” is a great gift full of essential information that will improve their lives.

A Much Needed Resource!

This book is very in-depth and is a much needed fitness resource. I liked the details about what happens to our bodies when we age. Most (including me) don't see this stuff coming and then "wham" we're out of shape wondering how we got here. So, I liked the precise solutions for the body changes we undergo as seniors. I also liked the chapter about safety, which is important especially if you're just starting out with exercise. The narration is really good and the book is well written, oh and it comes with a free ebook...which is really handy!

Very useful exercises

My mum wanted something to help her gain some better balance and strength now she's 65 and just gone into retirement. She listened to the audible, managed to do the exercises and learnt a lot along the way as well. She is feeling stronger and has better balance as a result. Highly recommended.
