About this listen

Shani Silver is not an advocate for singlehood. She’s an advocate for single women feeling good while single - and there’s a difference.

A Single Revolution is one book for single women that won’t approach you like you’re unfinished. It’s for those who are exhausted, frustrated, confused, or angry - who want relationships but don’t deserve to be miserable in the meantime.

A grueling dating grind isn’t a prerequisite for partnership. You can be happily single and still meet someone - that’s allowed. It’s possible to value your single time so much that you refuse to give it up for anything less than the amazing relationships you deserve. It’s also possible to stop searching for them so relentlessly that you ignore every other aspect of your valid, beautiful life. This isn’t a book about dating. It’s a book about living.

You can choose how you feel about being single. You can choose to feel wrong, or you can choose to feel free. A Single Revolution isn’t about changing yourself - it’s about changing your mind.

Men should read this too

This book is very much written for single women, and rightly so given social stigmas. But there aren't many books written for men who struggle to be single, which is sad given the stats showing that we often struggle more. Still, there isn't much in this book which doesn't apply to unhappily single men even if we aren't addressed; this is probably a good thing, because it means Shani's advice applies to people across genders and sexualities.

The heart of the book is an attempt to help you reframe your beliefs about being single, since many singles -- myself included -- fall into the dual traps of awfulising being single and wonderfulising being in a relationship. She tries to show us that being single isn't just not bad, not just an okay thing to be while we wait for a relationship, but a state of being every bit as beneficial as love. I don't believe I'll ever see it that way for myself, as much as I want to, but Shani has most definitely given me a more positive view of my life as is; and that makes this book very much worth reading.

A must for all single women

Really enjoyed this book. After 3 years of single life following divorce I was in a hole of negative thoughts about my single life. Great advice about dating, apps, reframing and loving single life.

Absolute game changer!!!

Absolutely loved this book and it's just reinforced what I've been thinking for years. As a 41 year old single woman I've had many similar experiences to the ones described in the book and always felt that Ive deserved them.....but not anymore. From now on I will focusing on all that I am...a holistic therapist, yachtswoman, dog mamma, friend, family member that has travelled the world, experienced many things and about to buy my 2nd property. Definitely embracing my single hood for as long as I happen to be in it! Thank you Shani!

Disgusting language!

She’d lost me right from the beginning of the book! I wish I’d never wasted my credit on it. I thought this book was going to be about empowering, inspiring and uplifting the single people of this generation but it kinda sounded like she was avenging her dating coach for concluding that she was undateable!
