Story
Discover the untold stories of resilience and adaptation in the High Arctic with APTN News' new six-part podcast series The Place that Thaws from reporter Danielle Paradis. Join us as we journey to Resolute Bay and Grise Fiord, Canada's northernmost communities, where the impacts of climate change are starkly evident. Story
For three months, APTN News reporter Kathleen Martens interviewed people living in bus shelters, alleyways, parks and Winnipeg’s emergency shelter system. She found people experiencing homelessness were on the streets for a number of reasons, including poverty, addiction and mental health issues. The five-part series called Our Relatives explores the over-representation of Indigenous Peoples in the city's homeless population, who travel from their nations to the “big city” for shelter and a stable life. What they find is much different.
