It is difficult to call The Unnamed a story. It is more like a fictionalized literary essay, a precursor to a future series of essays titled In Defence of Dagon, in which Lovecraft will present a theory of the supernatural story and attempt to prove that horror literature should not be dismissed as exclusively immature, targeted at the masses.

The story is told from the first-person perspective of an unnamed narrator and details his experiences with a scientist named Crawford Tillinghast. Tillinghast creates an electronic device that emits a resonance wave, which stimulates an affected person's pineal gland, thereby allowing them to perceive planes of existence outside the scope of accepted reality. Sharing the experience with Tillinghast, the narrator becomes cognizant of a translucent, inter-dimensional environment that overlaps our own recognized reality.

This collection of Lovecraft tales was assembled in honour of the antiquarian, Randolph Carter. His story is one of horror, dreams and nightmarish encounters in dimensions beyond reality.

FNH Audio presents a complete and unabridged reading of H.P. Lovecraft's famous story "At the Mountains of Madness". The story is related by one of the two survivors from a polar expedition. Unlike other polar explorers who may have died from cold, starvation or simply getting lost, in this story things are somewhat different.The survivor is desperate to prevent a new polar expedition because there are "beings" there, strange murderous beings.

The story revolves around a young man who becomes obsessed with an abandoned crypt. Originally built to house the members of a powerful local family, the crypt was abandoned after a fire consumed the family’s home and compelled them to move away. Despite living in the local area and having an entirely different surname, the narrator of the story claims some spurious relation to the powerful family. With this obsession ingrained he starts to spend his nights loitering outside the crypt and dreaming up ways of gaining access.

This is because William Dyer has been to Antarctica on an expedition before and knows of the unspeakable horrors that lie in its frigid terrain.

The Call of Cthulhu is one of H. P. Lovecraft's best-known short stories. The story begins with the narrator describing the night sky as observed over long sleepless nights from his window, in particular that of the Pole Star, Polaris, which he describes as "winking hideously like an insane watching eye which strives to convey some strange message, yet recalls nothing save that it once had a message to convey". He then describes the night of the aurora over his house in the swamp, and how on this night he first dreamed of a city of marble lying on a plateau between two peaks, with Polaris above in the night sky.
