  • From Flag Football to 2024 US Women's Rugby Sevens Olympic Bronze Medalist - Kayla Canett
    Sep 30 2024

This week we had the opportunity to sit down with United States Professional Women's Sevens Rugby Player Kayla Canett. Kayla talks us through her journey growing up playing sports in San Diego County, to her time at Penn State securing NCAA Championships, and more recently her 2020 Tokyo Olympic experience as well as her OLYMPIC BRONZE at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games with the rest of the USA Women's Sevens Team.

This is the FIRST medal for any Sevens Team at the olympics. We were excited to hear how it felt in those final seconds at the Paris Games when the Team knew they had locked in the medal after a breakaway last second score in the match by her teammate.

Kayla talks about her true love for the game and what it's like to be an incognito olympian in a lecture hall full of fellow college students.

Kayla plans to get her degree in kinesiology and ideally stay involved in sports in some capacity, but she's got no interest in hanging up the cleats any time soon.

We hope you enjoy this chat with Kayla as much as we did. Go say hey to her on Instagram:
