I teach a lot of corporates the art of confident leadership and even more humans, the art of being themselves ... but back in the early days, I was too terrified to get in front of an audience because my impostor syndrome had me convinced that NO ONE would want to listen to a fat coach!
Seriously!!
Traditional therapy was telling me I had to look back over my achievements and acknowledge how far I had come, which to me was all a big pile of wank, because IF I WAS ABLE TO DO THAT, I WOULDN'T HAVE IMPOSTOR SYNDROME!
*eyeroll*
When self-doubt has you by the short and curlies, we put everything we achieve down to luck, or someone (or something) else making it possible. We never for a second believe that we are ready enough, qualified enough or good enough to own our space and let the world know that we're here!
Well, I have been able to do that in recent years, and it's all because I learned some things that gave me a whole new perspective on impostor syndrome, and today I'd like to share these things with you too.
So, without further ado, here is:
FIVE things you need to know about impostor syndrome, and TEN ways to f*ck it off!
