  • Summary

  • Hi guys my name is Sarah and i'm a Christian woman from South London. Prayers and Laughter is a lighthearted podcast where I preach about the word of God but also showcase the realness of being a podcaster. Whether it's smoke detector beeps in the background, laughs, or mispronunciations, I want to show realism and not perfection..to be relatable to the viewers and not worry about editing the 'flaws'. So grab your cup of tea, count how many times my smoke detector beeps in the background and leave knowing that you are loved by Christ Jesus. God bless you all !!

  • Loneliness
    Jul 22 2024

Hi guys, welcome back to another episode of Prayers and Laughter where i touch on the topic of loneliness. Loneliness is sometimes inevitable, even more so as Christians as there's a massive contrast between us and the world. However, it's important to not let the moments of loneliness cause you to gravitate back into the world, the very place we were rescued from by Jesus Christ. Release the burdens of your heart, trust the LORD and turn your heart to Jesus Christ for he said, ' Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.'- Matthew 11:28 NIV Do not compare yourselves to others in your moments of loneliness for you are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) Trust the LORD at all times and know that he has a plan for you, to guide you and surround you with those who are equally yoked. God bless you all.

  • Superiority complex within denominations
    Jul 17 2024

Hi guys, welcome back to another episode. This episode is about denominations. I do not go in depth about denominations but touch on the surface level regarding looking down on others, and deeming them unloved and unrighteous because of their denomination. One thing we should know as Christians is that the LORD is the judge of us all. You may look at the surface, and have preconceived conceptions about a person but the LORD said to Samuel, 'Man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart.' - 1 Samuel 16:7 ESV In this context, the LORD sent Samuel to Jesse's house to anoint one of his sons to be the new king of Israel and Samuel looked at one of their appearance to justify why he would be a good fit. However, the LORD rejected the idea of looking at the outside appearance because he knew that David was the one who had his heart set on him, even if he didn't have the stereotypical build for a king. The same concept applies to us when we judge people based on the things we hear about their denomination. There's nothing wrong with having righteous judgement and guiding people onto the right path, and diminishing false teachings...but we should still show love and compassion to our brothers and sisters in Christ. The LORD knows their hearts, and if he sees that they're in a bad environment, he will make a way for them to get onto the right path. He loves us regardless, especially when he sees that our hearts are set on him and not on the world.

  • Do not conform to the world
    Jul 16 2024

As Christians, the world and the success of those who are ingrained in the world can sometimes be infuriating, which can produce feelings of jealousy. Social media is at the forefront of our lives, where worldly trends and vocabularies become the next 'quoted' thing. However, we should lean on Jesus Christ and remember Romans 12:2 which says to not 'conform to the pattern of this world.' It's a basic human instinct to fit in, but remember that the path of the flesh leads to destruction, and it's finite compared to the infinite blessings you'd receive when you walk with Christ. When the temptations of the world arises, lean not on your own understanding, and pray for the fullness of faith, surrender your worries to the LORD and ingrain yourselves into the words of the kingdom. God Bless you all !
