    PMDD Is a cyclical disorder thought to be caused by hormone fluctuations during the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle. These fluctuations have a direct effect on the brain and indirectly, mood. Like other hormonal disorders, there is a spectrum of severity with varied symptoms.
