About this listen

Don't miss the Wizard's Tower Books 1-3 Box Set, a LitRPG adventure about a cranky wizard who seeks solitude in orer to uncover all of the mysteries of magic.

The humans call me Nemon Fargus. They call me wizard, and [Elementalist] and [Enchanter]. They call me teacher. They call me adventurer.

But I don't care. Not anymore.

For more than 150 years I've served the Kingdom of Sena. Through four Kings and a Queen. Two wars and a rebellion. I've founded and taught at a magic school. I've fought against beast waves and dungeon breaks.

But now? Now, the one close friend I had left has passed. So, I'm done with their politics and their economics. The short and busy lives of humans are more burden than benefit on the weary soul of this half-elf.

Now, I'm looking for a refuge, a place that can well and truly be my own. Away from the growing cities and the bustling markets, away from the pointless wars, away from the eager students and the arrogant adventurers.

I'm seeking the peaceful life of a wizard in his tower, studying magic to advance my spellcraft...We'll see if that happens.

Experience this LitRPG Series Bundle from Gregory Allanther, the bestselling author of An Old Man's Journey.

good story, excellent narration.

I really enjoyed this trilogy, I don't normally like audio books where the main character also narrates the non speaking parts, but it worked really well in this case.

chapters are between 10 and 20 minutes long, meaning it was easy to listen to several chapters between doing other things.

characters are well developed and believable, with some very witty dry humour thrown in all through the book.

well worth a listen too.

Great story

While I really enjoyed this book it was very inconvenient that all three books were presented as a single chapter. Might want to sort that out as losing my place when synchronising to my cars media system caused me to swear, a lot.

good books. the ending was weird in book 3. one second everyrhing was ok the next they were fighting the last boss. I guess they had a limit amount of characters to use or something...

Primarily competent, good harmless fun.

Acceptable writing, which is not a given when it comes to the LitRPG genre. The main character has some ”endearing quirks” that are just outright embarassing writing and there’s quite a lot of spaghetti thrown on the wall during the three books that sometimes doesn’t stick and is promptly forgotten or glossed over. Still, it you need to be mildly entertained for 40 hours, the bang for the buck ratio is pretty amazing here.

The performance was great but the story was hard to enjoy

A perfect example of a bad book read well. I made it to the final book with 3 hours left but just couldn’t take it anymore amazingly read but the story lacks effort.

Wasn't what I hoper for

The narrator has no range, it's far too easy to completely tune him out and have to go back because you lost interest. The story itself isn't exciting, one book down and absolutely nothing has happened bar some building.

Boring

List after list after list.
I have listened to some bad books, I’ve been a member cor many years. But this I couldn’t put myself through any longer. Even the battles were just a list of events. Can’t say whether it’s the story or the narrator. I would return it if I could but it’s just going to clog up my library instead.
