Summary

The My Best Friend is an Eldritch Horror Complete Series Bundle is 6 Full Books of Magic Academy LitRPG adventure about a young man who accidentally summons a mysterious monster during his studies of magic.

Damien nearly ended the world. Now, his mistake might be the only thing that can save it.

Good things come to those who wait. Damien Vale didn’t, and he ended up bound to an Eldritch creature from beyond the reaches of space. It has lived since the dawn of time, seen the world born and destroyed countless times, and wants to be called Henry.

Unusual companion or not, Damien was still determined to go to a mage college and study magic. He wants nothing more than to live normal life as a researcher, but if Henry’s true nature is revealed, he’ll be killed.

To top it all off, Damien’s teacher is a madman from the front lines of war, his alcoholic dean suspects something is awry with his companion, and Blackmist might possibly be the worst school in history. Damien has to prevent the end of the world, but he isn’t even sure he’s going to make it through Year One at Blackmist.

some characters were interesting, others boring

I got this as more of a value thing, at the beginning I loved the story, the idea of a person being good harbouring something evil. however further into the story the enemies strength started feeling artificial, stories being half baked. for example, he loses something important and doesn't know what it is and that upsets him, he then finds what was taken and now he's not remotely bothered. or certain characters earlier, like mark start to have mystery, then it's never expanded on. Damiens mother feels neglected in the story, not for plot, just feels like the author forgot about her after about book 2 or 3 ans added her near end.

Damiens father, his entire being is shallow, barely explained, supposed to be very strong yet we don't get any of it. the queen is literally in the story once, and it felt like it was a rush job. all this plot of getting trusted friends for the big war, led to a half baked plot point.

too many side quests with what felt like no consequences at all, basically being filler arcs to the story. the final battle felt confusing, the void vs corruption vs Damien yet a big part became a nothing burger in the story.

if you have a spare credit its worth it to pass time, but it's certainly half baked in areas, like the author rushed to start another story
