Summary
Her breathless kiss haunts him...
Bowen MacRieve of the Lykae clan was nearly destroyed when he lost the one woman meant for him. The ruthless warrior grew even colder, never taking another to his bed - until a smoldering encounter with his enemy, Mariketa the Awaited, reawakens his darkest desires. When sinister forces unite against her, the Highlander finds himself using all his strength and skill to keep her alive.
His slow, hot touch is irresistible...
Temporarily stripped of her powers, Mari is forced to take refuge with her sworn adversary. It's rumored that no one can tempt Bowen's hardened heart, but soon passion burns between them. Though a future together is impossible, she fears he has no intention of letting her go.
No deed is too wicked for her seduction...
If they defeat the evil that surrounds them, can Mari deny Bowen when he demands her body and soul - or will she risk everything for her fierce protector?

love the books, however I struggle bot to laugh at times when the male narrator impersonates the various females.

A Keeper!
I really enjoyed this book and feel it's one of the best in the IAD series.
Regarding the story, it's plot driven, with interesting characters - both main and secondary. The fact that the main 'bedroom' scene doesn't appear until Chapter 41 (though there's plenty of teasing before then) shows that there's some substance to the story.
The narration is WONDERFUL, amongst the best I've heard. Robert Petkoff really captures the voice and the intonation of the author and brings the characters, both male and female, to life. It's worth buying the audiobook for his performance alone.

Enjoying this series ALOT!!!
First of all, Robert Petkoff is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G as the reader?!?!?!?....this book was a total turning point at mastering the female voices ....really very good at the various accents and embodying the other worldly characters. I'm really enjoying the way Kresley Kole has woven the books together picking some of the previously secondary characters to be the focus of the following books.
Now....down to business....having mainly listened to Phillip Pullman & young adult fantasy books up to now....as well as great stories this series is raunchy compared to what I'm used to....and I'm ancient (48!!!). I'm not complaining though, I'm not an easily embarrassed wall flower and I'm quite enjoying it **nudge nudge..wink wink. Erm....might have to see if there's a 'Secret Library" where I can stash these & other like minded books with all of their hot under the collar moments,as my husband now shares my account. He's listening to the Phillip Pullman books now.....if he stumbles on these he's going to figure out why I stare into space with my headphones in, with an odd smile on my face. Haha....I'm straight onto the net one...let's face it, I'm going to end up listening to them all aren't I?

Wicked Deeds on a Winters Night
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
What did you like best about this story?
The development of the relationship between Bowen and Meriketa. The growth from dislike to love and then abandonment is very well written.
What about Robert Petkoff’s performance did you like?
The narrator does an excellent job. The difference between male and female voices works very well. He maintains the accents and has enough emotional range to enhance the story.
Any additional comments?
I did read book 2 in this series and this is book 3, sadly the first hour of this book is a rehash of the end of the story in book 2, I very nearly gave it up as a bad job but after the first part the rest of the book is very good and a good listen.

wow
I recently read "Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night", the fourth book in the "Immortals After Dark" series, and I absolutely loved it. The book revolves around the story of Bowen, who is one of the most tortured heroes I've ever read about. He is a complex character with a brusque personality, yet he is genuine, likable, and charming.
Bowen's only goal in life is to go back to the winter of 1827 and save his mate, Mariah, who ran away from him during a full moon night when she saw his monster and was accidentally killed. Bowen has been living in misery and sorrow for centuries, without any purpose in his life, until he discovers the Hie competition, which is represented by the majority of the Lore factions. The ultimate prize of the competition is the key to going back in time, and Bowen knows that he has to win it to get his mate back. Nye has predicted that this competition is the key to his success.
The heroine of the story, Mariketa (Mari), is a fantastic and fun character. She is smart, confident, and independent, and I loved how the author portrayed her character. Mari is a witch who has been underestimated by the other factions of the Lore, but she is determined to prove them wrong. She is vulnerable and insecure at times, but her determination and spunk make her one of my favourite heroines in the series so far.
Overall, "Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night" is a beautifully written book that is full of action, adventure, and romance. The story is well-developed, and the characters are well-rounded and relatable. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves paranormal romance and fantasy fiction.
