A must read book for life
Since starting therapy, I’ve realised how many little things we humans could tweak to find deeper happiness and fulfilment. I wanted a manual to kind of point me in the right direction for all of these things (a huge ask) and this book is exaactly that. The reader is really calming and human, compared to a lot of annoying readers (and British thankfully lol - sorry Americans). It covers everything from risk aversion, to relationships, self esteem and attachment. If you’re looking for self improvement or clues to fine better fulfilment, this is the book for you. It covers so many things in an east to digest way, and isn’t repetitive which I find rare in a book of this style. Highly recommend !

insightful, thought provoking, and challenging
I decided to listen to Dr Julie's book based on a random audible recommendation.
However, listening to Dr Julie talk through the mind, how it works, strategies to help cope with stress and other mental health challenges I began wondering about my own mental health.
Some of the topics hit home, and some of the symptoms described by Dr Julie, and the honesty which comes through, challenged me to challenge myself and my own mental health.
I have taken on some of the techniques given within in the book in the 'tool kits' and I have also accessed therapy to help me with these techniques.
Thank you Dr Julie for a great book, a great listen and the next step on better mental health

Really good Audiobook
Great book with summer practical suggestions. Dr Smith has such a pleasant voice, I found myself falling asleep some nights, due to her soft voice not the content.
