had me grinning

how could a zompoc novel possibly make me grin and laugh?! I found this extremely funny, the descriptions of tripping and the dialogue with another stoner were perfection and brought back many happy memories of my own. you might think the conversations between Trip and Mike were fictional, they were not. I've had many such convos with many such people in many an altered state. beautifully done. brought back many memories of many happy times. quite the juxtaposition

Convert

The books grew on me and the last book was great, the characters are really strong and well crafted Mike really grows on you. Just wish the finale was more epic (that’s the death of Eliza) the reading/performance is outstanding, I’m glad I persevered and I’m glad it concluded at book 6.
Really good

Another head on collision with death and destruction

Micheal Talbot the hero is kept grounded by his down to earth family and loving but emasculating wife ...parts of this book had me laughing out loud as new characters enter Talbots journey through the apocalypse of horror

Irritating and inconsistent

Main character spends half the book describing how high he is and talking absolute nonsense with another junky; final victory is from a chance hit due to the villain monologuing ad nauseum...

8 books down 16 more to go

With the demise of Eliza, how will the series unfold with so many books to get through? The books are crazy: a virus, zombies, vampires, demon, God(?). What next dragons, time travel, and talking animals. Shouldn't like it but can't help wanting more.
