Summary
Brought to you by Penguin.
An attractive student. An older professor.
Think you know the story? Think again.
The new up-all-night thriller from the Sunday Times best-selling author Cara Hunter.
She has everything at stake; he has everything to lose. But one of them is lying, all the same.
When an Oxford student accuses one of the university's professors of sexual assault, DI Adam Fawley's team think they've heard it all before. But they couldn't be more wrong.
Because this time, the predator is a woman and the shining star of the department, and the student, a six-foot male rugby player.
Soon DI Fawley and his team are up against the clock to figure out the truth. What they don't realise is that someone is watching.
And they have a plan to put Fawley out of action for good....

Brilliant.
Love the characters, excellent book. Fun trying to work out what is really happening. Challenges assumptions. We are waiting eagerly for the next.

In the words of Tina….Simply The Best!
I have thoroughly enjoyed the DI Adam Fawley series and this last book of the series did not disappoint.
It really did have me gripped and on the edge of my seat.
I love the way the books make me try and play detective in my head and work out who and how…..who is the easier…the “how” I never seem to get (probably why I am not a detective!)
Always tell a good book series when you start to relate to the characters themselves, and start to imagine them in your mind as real not fictional, when reading or listening to a book.
Massive credit to the narrators, as they can often make or break and audiobook and pleased to say they certainly made this one an audio hit for me.
For anyone who has not read this book series, I can genuinely say you are missing out on a real crime fest. The storylines are believable (which is important to me) and the characters, like I said, you can imagine as real.
Thank you Cara for another fantastic book and I cannot wait for the next one 😊

Great book to end the year with
Like many others I really love these books and this is probably the best yet. I find the narration nicely understated, and I like the way the stories develop with lots of twists and turns and how the book’s characters
are evolving with each new book. Super excited about the TV series, just hope they get the casting right!

An absolute heart stopping audiobook
This book/audiobook is definitely the best book in the series (so far). I love DI Fawley as a character. He doesn't have any addiction vices and is a good husband, intuitive detective and fair boss. Boring? Anything but. Only a great writer can bring alive Add the great writing, brilliant plots and great narration. Add the way, with each book in the series, you get to know the other main characters and then ? I am not going to spoil it for you...

Another superb story ..couldn’t put it down .
At first I wondered why so much police time and attention was being spent on what seemed a fairly’ minor’ sexual assault …but as usual the brilliantly narrated story unfolded to an involved fast paced plot. ..and what a joy to be able to do both simultaneously.
I live in in a block of retirement apartments in the beautiful town of Kelso ,Scotland…and my lovely neighbours are always very grateful for all the goodies . I do hope Lee plays the D.I in TV episodes …can’t wait.
Better go…another DI Fawley books awaits …Gingerbread this afternoon I think x

Fantastic
Rare to find a crime thriller I don't work out before the end. So many twists and turns throughout.

Complicated
I kept on listening to this even when I had no idea what was going on! I often found that I didn't know who was talking as many of the characters sounded the same. Although Emma Cunniffe has a soft pleasant voice, she does not change her pitch and find enough to indicate gender or age. I often felt that she paused in a sentence then read another few words as if she had not realised they were going to said. This makes the flow a bit clunky.
I think the story will be excellent as a tv drama.

Good but..
A good book but felt a bit short changed as if purchased based on the description but that was more of a secondary story line
