Summary

A young woman’s body is left in a metal container in a remote location. The killer is careful to position her under a camera that links to his smartphone. He likes to look back at his work. He is watching her. But she isn't dead. So he will return to finish the job. He can barely contain his excitement at the thought of getting to do it all over again. But he must be careful. He cannot rush. Rushing makes you careless ... Detective Maddie Ives is new to the area. She is handed a missing person report: a young woman with a drink problem who’s been reported missing 15 times. It looks like a waste of time. But DS Ives has a bad feeling about the woman’s disappearance. DI Harry Blaker is called to a hit and run of an elderly man left to die on a quiet country road. There is no motive and it looks like a tragic accident. But he’s been working Major Crime long enough to know that something isn’t quite right. The two officers find their investigations intertwine and they will need to work together. But they must work fast. Time is running out for the woman in the container. And the killer has already identified his next target.

Great story

Griping story, finished the book in no time.
Only issue, The reader needs to give each character their own voice as it read hard to distinguish which character was speaking at times.

Great characters , awesome narration. Give this a go!

First time trying this author and I’m quite impressed. If I had any negative it was that I felt the ending was a bit rushed . So I removed a star for that.
The characters are great and I’m looking forward to seeing how they evolve in the next books in series. I really love Antonia Beamish narration, I’ve listened to her narrate other books and think she really brings the characters to life.

Watching You

From a police perspective there were some procedural issues but a good ‘read’.
I didn’t understand why real place names were used but a fictitious police force was invented!

Slightly uneven but enjoyable

Narrator didn’t make much difference between some of the characters and the dialogue was hard to follow on occasion.
Not sure why Kent has been renamed Lennickshire and Folkestone has become Langthorn, the rest of the county and even descriptions of different areas of Canterbury are accurate.

Great first book

It was a little confusing at first and took a while to get the main characters going but I thoroughly enjoyed this book
