Wonderful writing style.
I love the authors style of writing - well paced, concise and descriptive without drifting into over elaboration.
My only concern is that the plots of the second two stores in the Maddy Ives series have drifted into the slightly far fetched area, and I’m hoping that they return to the grittiness of the first one - which was one of the best police procedurally I’ve read.

Harry and Maddie are on the case
I am loving this partnership. The gruff older senior seasoned detective Di Harry Blaker and the younger and no nonsense sparky DS Maddie Ives. I love their relationship she is not afraid to stand up to him and although he would never say it he loves that.
A young boy is found wondering the the streets and has quite a lot of blood on him. He is linked to a case but he is not talking. Together Harry and Maddie must piece everything together. Harry is trying to cope with the loss of his wife and the culprit is being released. This has a knock on affect for him and his daughters.
As the case starts to evolve it seems it is a deadly game where tasks have to be completed and things start to get grim as one of their own gets taken….

This has been my favourite in this series so far
Just liked the story line- had be gripped from the start and the fact it’s set where I live made it even more thrilling to read. Ready for book 4 now!
Great narration too.

Started really well but lost pace towards the end
It could have been quite a bit shorter. Good story overall but took too long to reach its conclusion. And the narrators depiction of Harry’s voice was awful

Good story
The story was ok but a bit drawn out. Nearly sent it back as the narrators voice for Harry was so awful, it hurt to listen. The rest of characters were ok but it an awful voice for Harry. Might not listen to any more if this narrator does Harry again.

Maddie & Harry meet Monsters Inc.
I am enjoying the series and in books 1 & 2 the narration was good. In book 3, however, Harry sounds like Roz from monsters Inc! Add a touch of American and it's identical! Yes we know Harry is gruff but I dont think he has laryngitis! Narration spoiled this one for me - please, please don't make book 4 the same

Great story had me hooked from the beginning!!
After the disappointment of book 2 , I’m glad to say this one was awesome! Really enjoyed the story of this. It had me hooked from the very beginning and I finished it so quick!!
If there is one gripe I have it’s that the narrator seemed to have changed her voice for Harry. I usually like this narrator but I did find myself getting quite annoyed by her voices in this one. I’m hoping that Harry’s voice is back to normal in Book 4. If it isn’t broken why fix it !!!!

A good read
Maddie Ives and her team are faced with a difficult task, who is the boy covered in blood and whose blood is it? The team work well together and also have strong individual stories which makes the story enjoyable to read. I did have some reservations about one thread of the plot which did not quite ring true for me hence the 4 stars.

Great story!
I really enjoyed all three books (so far) in this series! really likeable characters that were good to see rounding out and developing. my only criticism is the narrator's performance of Harry! I get it that he's got a Barky/growly voice but unfortunately he constantly sounds like a female with laryngitis, whisper shouting! It got a little annoying in places.... that said, I couldn't do a better job! I love the fact that the mistakes and human side of the characters are detailed, warts and all! A really good read that I'll be sure to keep my eyes peeled for the next in the series!
