About this listen
They're rebels, scoundrels, and blackguards - dark, dashing men on the wrong side of the law. But for the women who love them, a hint of danger only makes the heart beat faster.
Gavin St. James, Earl of Thorne, is a notorious Highlander and an unrelenting Lothario who uses his slightly menacing charm to get what he wants-including too many women married to other men. But now, Gavin wants to put his shady past behind him...more or less. When a fiery lass who is the heiress to the land he wishes to possess drops into his lap, he sees a perfectly delicious opportunity.
A marriage most convenient
Samantha Masters has come back to Scotland, in a pair of trousers, and with a whole world of dangerous secrets from her time spent in the Wild West trailing behind her. Her only hope of protection is to marry - and to do so quickly. Gavin is only too willing to provide that service for someone he finds so disturbingly irresistible. But even as danger approaches, what begins as a scandalous proposition slowly turns into an all-consuming passion. And Gavin discovers that he will do whatever is necessary to keep the woman he has claimed as his own.

lovely story.... wonderful narration.
thank you Derek for bringing the charecters alive... I loved your brough and making Gavin a likeable hero... as for Sam ... did not like very much her charecter dwindling between strong filthy mouth American and a ninny wife...however the story line was wonderful and great to see Liam back with his brotherly growl and affection.

Good story and narration
I can't say I loved this book from the start, because I didn't. The H/H were fighting all the time, all through the first half of the book. Sam was too much, she was the one that fought with Gavin most of the time. he tried to pacify things but she was relentless. In fact she grew too tiresome, annoyingly so. But half way through it became much better. I still recommend this book though as the second half was brilliant. And I would listen to it again. And the narrator was great as always.

Great episode to this series
Loved this, some of the reviews are quite scathing, yes there is a lot of swearing but I loved the fiery pluck of Sam/Alison/Bonny, so many leading ladies in these historical romances are (especially this series) are just too 'nice'; i really liked Sam's can do brash survival character. The dynamic between Gavin and Bonny was fantastic, as were the supporting characters
Narrated well with the American accent.
Great feed into the next book.
