About this listen
He was a legend on the battlefield, but Aric Neville, known throughout England as the White Lion, had had his fill of intrigue and bloodshed. So he threw down his sword and walked away, to live a solitary life, cultivating a reputation as a sorcerer. But his prized tranquility was shattered when the villagers brought him a bride. Gwenyth de Auburd was a raven-haired beauty too impudent to ignore and too tempting to resist. When the war raging around them sucked Aric into his past again, he also fought a losing battle against his undeniable desire for the luscious, willful maiden...only to learn that he had come to cherish her as his wife.

Outstanding
brilliant writing, brilliant narrator, brilliant characters. Shayla Black is now a new favourite and I am. off to listen to Drake's story. I hope all three friends are in each other's story.

brilliant story
Loved every second of it. I just couldn't stop listening. This is my first book of Shelly Bradley and will definitely be listening to the rest of the series. I loved that it was based on true historical events with true historical figures. And I loved the beautiful bit and steamy love story between Aric and Gwyneth. Tim Campbel was brilliant as usual. in fact I found this book looking for more titles of historical romances narrated by him. Definitely worth a credit. Now on to the next one

I really Enjoyed this book
I couldn't stop listening to this book from the different characters to the many twists & turns.
It never fails to amaze me what drives people. But something you cannot see or touch always seems to win.
I Loved Gwyneth with her fiery temper against that of Aric. I found myself laughing at their sparring.
All of this bought to life by the brilliant narrator Tim Campbell.
I would definitely recommend it.

Great narration
I have enjoyed the historical background and information but not so much the inability to communicate between the female and male characters. I found it extremely annoying. Narration was great though.

OMG, what a brattish, irritating & dense heroine 🤦♀️
I really tried to give it a chance as the premise seemed to be an interesting one..
but lordy, the heroine is doing my head in... I'm more than halfway through & she's still a brat, still annoying, still childish, still immature & still thick as a plank of wood!
It's an incredibly shallow book as it seems that her "beauty" is her only redeeming feature & that would hardly sway me 🤷♀️
A stranger gives up his freedom to save her from being murdered & her first thought is to blame HIM, call him names & curse at him, even though she witnessed it all!
He's treated her with nothing but kindness & STILL she lashes out at him at every chance!
Honestly, from what I gathered, the author thinks that a pretty face compensates for a bad attitude... it does not & I can't believe that a sane person would tolerate her antics, much less desire her!
Tim Campbell & Aric are the books only saving grace, but I honestly can't stand the harpy anymore!
