Summary

Get ready to fall in love with this royally charming rom com — featuring a full cast and an immersive audio soundscape!

Maggie Patel has landed her dream job at The New York Spectator; or, it would be, if she could get a decent story assignment. When a career-making interview finally lands on her desk, it’s with the last person she’d ever want to see again — Edward, the Crown Prince of Bairmorne...and her long-ago friend.

When Maggie was a child, her mother worked as a housemaid at the Royal Palace of Bairmorne, a small European nation, until they were unceremoniously kicked to the curb...amidst a cloud of whispered controversy and palace intrigue. Now, Prince Edward and Maggie are all grown up and they both have jobs to do — but there’s a spark between them they can’t deny. Will that spark lead to something more, and can their attraction withstand public scrutiny, royal duty, and secrets from the past?

Great experience

Very enjoyable offering. I thought the plot fairly predictable but then there was a mega plot twist. Some good comedy.
Characters very likeable. Suspend disbelief and sit back and enjoy the show.

Great performances from all

Exactly like a radio play

⭐⭐⭐⭐.5
This audiobook was definitely more of a radio play than a book which I adored as an ex-Actor and lovey. There were loads of cast members which provided a range of voices and it was really easy to distinguish which character was which. And the book was also made up of a lot of short scenes with musical intros.

I really really enjoyed listening to this one and as someone who isn't a massive fan of the monarchy, I'm surprised at just how much I loved this. The story was great and I definitely laughed out loud more than once. I adored some of the characters too.

Fun undemanding romance

I see lots of reviewers have complained about the sound effects being intrusive, but I enjoyed the sound effects and the fact it was done like a radio play. Performances pretty good (apart from the prince who was extremely hammy). Contains every regular-girl-meets-a-prince cliché in the book but if you like Hallmark royal romances you'll love it.

Devoured this book!

Listened to this book incredibly quickly and loved it. A predicable read but that is what I was expecting. The actors did a great job and I loved listening to more than one person within thd story.

loved it

The story is a little obvious but the pleasure was definitely in listening to the atmosphere of sounds and truly funny moments.

Good listen. narrators were brilliant

storyline is predictable but still really enjoyable. narrators were brilliant, very different, but great. The only thing to lose a star was the transitions. The odd music every few minutes was distracting and took away a little for me, but i enjoyed it overall. 🤌

a quick fun listen

I listened to this in one sitting and enjoyed it. the performances were really good, the audio effects a bit too much or too loud at times though. the romance was kinda predictable but not necessarily a bad thing. however, I feel the characters needed some more fleshing out, felt a bit one dimensional.

sweet and light

A little romance to relax on the weekend. A light story and, despite having the typical romance clichés, it surprises in some ways and is quite engaging.

Sweet and romantic

I've listened to a few stories now w full cast narrators and the added background sounds.... It does make for an enjoyable experience! Albeit very different from traditional narrations)
This is not exception, very sweet and romantic... Sure a bit predictable at times but did have one major plot twist that took me by surprise (in a good way)
Very good voices even if the majority sounded more British than from s
