About this listen

Geek girl Elle Wittimer lives and breathes Starfield, the classic science-fiction series she grew up watching with her late father. So when she sees a cosplay contest for a new Starfield movie, she has to enter. The prize? An invitation to the ExcelsiCon Cosplay Ball and a meet-and-greet with the actor slated to play Federation Prince Carmindor in the reboot. With savings from her gig at the Magic Pumpkin food truck and her dad's old costume, Elle's determined to win - unless her stepsisters get there first.

Teen actor Darien Freeman used to live for cons - before he was famous. Now they're nothing but autographs and awkward meet-and-greets. Playing Carmindor is all he has ever wanted, but Starfield fandom has written him off as just another dumb heartthrob. As ExcelsiCon draws near, Darien feels more and more like a fake - until he meets a girl who shows him otherwise. But when she disappears at midnight, will he ever be able to find her again?

Part-romance, part-love letter to nerd culture, and all totally adorbs, Geekerella is a fairy tale for anyone who believes in the magic of fandom.

Cliche plot but brilliantly performed

As expected for a Cinderella inspired story the plot was fairly cliche with every trope under the sun and probably aimed at a slightly younger YA audience.
But overall very well written and brilliantly performed by the two voice actors. Would listen to it again.

A sweet simple romance

If you want a more simple romantic story then all the dark fantasy books as of late this one takes a fun life spin on a classic fairytale. It does also have a bit enemy’s to lovers trope in it but is not a big vocal point in the story. Sweet simple chill romantic love novel for anyone of all ages from young tweens to adults.

Well, I enjoyd it

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I'd absolutely recommend this book it's a very entertaining listen.

What about Eileen Stevens and Tristan Morris ’s performance did you like?

They were generally very good, but someone should have made sure they both knew how to pronounce some of the words associated with the geekdoms the characterd talked about - I mean not knowing how to pronounce Dalek is a pretty obvious mistake.

A geeky modern cinderella

i liked the story it has a unique spin to the classic fairytale.

it shows the true feeling of belonging to a group of People who like the same thing yet are all different. Just like these communeties are in real.
Very well done.

One little note, the narrator says a couple lines dubble but its not to bad.

i would recomment this book.

Great Listen

I love Cinderella stories and this book didn't disappoint.

There where a few laugh out loud moments and times I wanted to shout at the characters but I lived every part of it. Thank you Ashley Piston.

The narration by Eileen Stevens and Tristan Morris was super. I stayed up all night listening.

A definite must listen

Ignite

Fun, geeky story. The narrators were good and the plot enjoyable. Both main characters were likable and I had a good time listening to this story.

Great story , but so-so narration

This was a really cute story and I loved the female narrator, but the male narrator made so many mistakes, including mispronouncing "dalek" wrong not once but twice! I didn't feel he was right for the part, but overall a sweet Cinderella retelling that will make you smile.

Really fun!

I loved the story and this retelling of Cinderella. It's not surprising, but it's deeply sweet and fun, I couldn't stop listening. Recommend it to everyone who wants a fluffy read by someone who understands deply what it's like to be in a fandom and love the experience!
