Summary
On the world of Marconen, your first Break determines the trajectory of your life. Calvin chose magic.
Without proper schooling or a mentor, the boy is dragged by the cruel whims of fate across the face of the planet, blending together different schools of magic and powerful abilities to create something new.
But there's a deeper secret behind his success. Why was he born an exile from his country? Why is his System so strange, and why does it keep talking to him?
As the march of time continues, something evil grows in power across the ocean.

Exciting, funny and well done
The writing is in par with the other book they have written. A fair warning though, this book doesn't pull punches, violence and sex isn't the main theme. Nevertheless there is spades of it, in detail, with the appropriate fault and frank language that reflects its nature. Great fun!

I like this person's books
This book was really good. I like the pacing, the dialog was nice and snappy and the magic system was really cool.
The settings is kind of like his other books, there are countries with factions, powerful people and nobles as well as normal people doing there day to day thing. Some of those people are bad but most of which are on the whole good. (This one currently leans a lot more towards the mediaeval fantasy though)
The story is 95% single perspective and the MC is really creative. The book doesn't get bogged down with moping although some people might not like that the author doesn't spend much time on how the MCs adventure is affecting him emotionally. But for me it was about perfect.
I just kind of like the story.

Incomplete series warning
The author has seemingly abandoned this series, it’s not a trilogy, but rather has another book left to be written to be finish. His last update I can find was 22months ago at the time of posting stating he plans to continue new chapters on the wake of the ravager within the next few months. lol. Clearly that didn’t happen.
Don’t purchase this work until you see a 4th audiobook released, don’t support works purposefully left unfinished to move on to other series, while still financially benefiting from unfinished work. Wasting the time of customers.
This is not Game of Thrones or The Kingkiller Chronicles. This series is not some standout point of literature art. It’s good, lighthearted fun at best with frustrating pacing issues at worst. Support other works that value your time.

Too many issues to catalogue
Whatever the age group this is aimed at, the writer just tries so hard to be funny it all falls flat on its face - considering how disjointed it is, the narrator applies credible effort into making it work - but I am barely into Chapter Three and I can’t stand the MC or the plot - will NOT be finishing it
