About this listen

He’s the most feared monster in the realm. And she’s what he needs to win his war…

In a world of warring orcs and men, Lady Norr is condemned to a childless marriage, a cruel lord husband, and a life of genteel poverty—until the day her home is ransacked by a horde. Leading the charge is their hulking, deadly orc captain: the infamous Grimarr.

Grimarr has a wicked plan for Lady Norr, and for ending this war once and for all. She’s going to become his captive, and the perfect snare for Lord Norr.

There’s no possible escape, and soon Lady Norr is dragged off toward Orc Mountain in the powerful arms of her greatest enemy. A ruthless, commanding warlord, with a velvet voice and mouthwatering scent, who awakens every forbidden hunger she never knew she had.

But Grimarr refuses to accept half measures—in war, or in pleasure. And before he’ll conquer Lady Norr’s deepest, darkest desires, she needs to surrender everything.

Her allegiance.

Her wedding-ring.

Her future.

And with her husband’s forces giving chase, Lady Norr can’t afford to play such a dangerous game—or can she? Even if this deadly orc’s plans might be the only way to save them all...

not so patiently waiting for the next 🥵🥵

Who knew that listening to the book would be just as 🥵🥵🥵as reading it.

I initially thought the audible would be a little awkward with lots of smut but Shane managed to keep it serious and sexy

fingers crossed we will get the next in the series soon?🥰

Unbelievably good!

If you haven’t already read the book, well the storyline is just brilliant - stick in there with Jule as she can at first be a little annoying but she redeems herself later on. Same goes for Grimarr. The overall story is great and there is a good balance of story to intimacy.

Shane East is the perfect narrator for this story and has done one hell of a job with all the character voices.

Absolutely a five star listen!

Amazing

Having read the book previously I was interested to hear how the production went. I was not disappointed the voice actor was amazing and captured the nature of the characters so well. I have a new found appreciation of the sneaky Captain and his mate. Great listen I look forward to more coming to audible.

Fantastic and HOT!!!

I'm adding Melynda M. review here, because I could't do better! "These Orcs are not your ordinary Orcs. While they may appear frightful and menacing, deep down all they really want is to find their mate, give them a good 'ploughing', and full their mates' lusty bodies with some good Orc seed.
Grimarr is Captain of the five combined Orc clans of Orc Mountain, and they are at war with the humans. Jule is the wife of a human Lord known for his hatred and cruelty, and not just towards Orcs. The day Grimarr kidnaps Jule after attacking her home sets off a chain of events that will threaten to bring you to tears and break your heart. This book will make you laugh, make you cry, and make you envision these Orcs as big, burly, green/grey skinned males with a broad Scottish brogue who can't seem to avoid inserting their own feet into their mouths."

The narration by Shane East is AMAZING! This book is a mix of awesome strong characters, great story and super hot scenes 😈

Awesome story, incredible story telling

I thoroughly enjoyed the book which quickly sets up a world which you fall into and keeps you gripped
I tripped over the author and randomly read another book in this series, and when I had completed that, I binged read the whole series and will watch out for more

Audiobooks add another dimension, not always a positive one, but this is a example of a great story and an awesome story teller. Shane East is a perfect narrator. The story is compelling but the story telling adds to this book. Sign me up for any thing Finley and Shane….seriously

There are a lot of audiobooks books that are good, This is extremely good and a must have in your audiobook library

Wtf have I just listened to?

Utterly ridiculous but very enjoyable.
Very entertaining orcs sound fun. Aston sounds like an idiot, at some points Jewel needs a snickers. But overall a good bit of fun. When does Balder meet his mate?

Superb writing. but....

Finley Fenn is a really good writer. Her use of description and imagery is applaudable, and the Orc story is intriguing.
However, I was put off by the Orc male lead, Grimarr, and even more so by Lady Norr, the human female lead.
He was cruel, wicked, arrogant, selfish, and thoughtless. He also constantly lied, bullied, manipulated, and used her. The worst thing about it was that Lady Norr was weak. It was appalling to see a woman who begged to be abused. She got out of one abusive relationship and welcomed another one.

Grimarr treated her badly, but she kept begging for more and even praised him for it. His power of control was the endless sex in which he constantly degraded her. It was always about what he wanted and his pleasure. I was actually even more disgusted by her!!

The narrator, Shane East was awesome, as always. If people found his narration somewhat cringy, I would let them know that it wasn't his fault; it was simply the lines he had to read and not the way he read it. Some of the dialogue was really annoying.
It took me a long time to finish listening to the book as I was so put off. However, I kept urging myself to get back into it because I was curious about how it would end, hoping Lady Norr would grow a backbone.

Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed by the ending.

Steamy and Beautiful

Whilst initially graphic description, the love story that blooms and the emotional twists throughout, capture you. Different to other monster romances in some ways. Couldn't stop listening!(
