Sequel to A Destiny of Dragons
Sam of Wilds faced the Dark wizard Myrin and lived to tell the tale. Granted, the battle left him scarred, but things could be a hell of a lot worse.
It’s not until he reunites with Morgan of Shadows and Randall that he realizes just how much worse things could be.
Because the scars have meaning and hint at Myrin’s true plans for Sam and the Kingdom of Verania.
With time running out, Sam and his band of merry misfits - the unicorn Gary, the half-giant Tiggy, Knight Commander Ryan Foxheart, and the dragon known as Kevin - must travel to the snowy mountains in the North and the heart of the Dark Woods to convince the remaining dragons to stand against Myrin. Along the way, Sam learns secrets of the past that will forever change the course of the future.
A reckoning is coming for Sam of Wilds, and there is nothing he can do to stop it.

New view of loved characters (Spoiler free review)
Didn’t think I would like it in the beginning, but it turned around and became one of my favorites in the series. It relies on your love for the characters to drive the story, but if you loved them as much as me you will enjoy this story!

I laughed. I cried. This is a wonderful, spectacular and totally fabulous book. And Michael Lesley is the best narrator. So awesome.

Loved it! heartbreaking and hilarious
Heartbreaking, hilarious and full of friendship and adventure! Only issue I noticed was there may be a line repeat in the epilogue? That could also be my audible playing up. Love this series!!

Wonderful and heart breaking too.
I layout loud at points in this book. I love all the mIn characters, I dislike the ones I am meant to. I am completely invested in their fates. Brilliantly written and amazing narration bringing these people to life. I shall bring them out and listen again and agAin.

VERY, VERY funny.
Characters make this series one of the best, and Michael Lesley brings them to live just right.
Gary is one of my favorites. Narrators' performance of Gary was AMAZING. I had to pause so many times due to my fits of laughter.
Sam - a lite "silly", naive, lost in his own "world"?
Tiggy smash? - NO Tiggy! . . . Wisdom and pure heart.
Ryan Foxheart - a lite "silly", is this a theme?
I recommend all books in this series.

Fabulous and heartbreaking
This series is so well written!!! TJ Klune is a magician with words!! Michael Lesley is truly outstanding ..the best narrator I have EVER heard. No spoilers in this review 😉but I will say I’m desperate for the next instalment to arrive .. I’ll miss Sam and all the characters till then!

Twisting and turning as we go
You think lightning stuck heart was funny, you think destiny of dragons is action packed....
Well consumption of magic is both, the lightness of LSH is there but the darkness is here. Prepare for pain, have tissues.
Also Michael Leslie is awesome! Still awesome, and better. Listen to the credits of the sound clips....
They are just tooooo funny
Good, solid funny entertains romp with swords dragons, a hornless gay unicorn, half giants, a KILF and wizards

Omg
I absolutely did not see that ending coming but jfc Lady Tina Ffs. I enjoyed this very much. No one goes as hard as Mama. I love this drag queen. And lesbian dragons? Is no one in Verenia straight? I assume no. This is Verenia after all. Great book. Didn't enjoy it AS MUCH as the other two but definitely worth the read.
