Wonderful
Magical and with twists and turns that kept me intrigued throughout the whole listen. I wish more of AG Slatters books were on audible. Really recommend those looking for something more magical realism with witchy characters.

Magical story
LOVED the story, witches, sisterhood, betrayal… performance itself was good however for some reason every now and then a line would be repeated? Which was a little jarring. Not sure what happened there but it makes it sound like the narrator is rereading the last sentence she read before leaving off for the day!

a great read
after all the murmuring bones i couldn't wait to listen to another A G Slatter book. this one did not disappoint. the characters were interesting the story line gripping. the only complaint is that I've finished it

Beautifully written. Ties up loose ends from the last book.
Author and narrator well matched. Excellent as always. There is something timeless and traditional and yet unique in her style. Wonderful.

Beautifully written again...
I love this series written and narrated, based in the countries of the UK. I've been as captivated by this story as much as the previous two and eagerly await another tale

Another perfect spooky witchy mystery
AG Slatter has just perfected gothic fantasy and I hope she NEVER stops writing I cannot fault this story and it’s a perfect addition to the Sourdough universe

Another triumph
Although it didn’t engage me as much as the two other books I still thoroughly enjoyed this fantasy fest! Narrator was excellent and the twists and tales kept the pace and entertainment to the end.

Couldn’t stop listening!
I absolutely loved this book! To be honest, I love every book AG Slatter writes! This story is amazing, quirky and dark at times, with brilliant characters and an amazing plot. I also really enjoyed the narrator’a performance. Pure delight!

Perfect dark fantasy
There were two Angela Slatter books available for free on audible and I’d been considering buying one of them so I jumped on the chance to try her work out. They were outstanding and I quickly bought this one because I so love her way of writing. Briar Witch is replete with the fairy tale storytelling, dark undertones (and overtones), strong female leads, and an overarching sense of the fantastical and strange which unifies it with her other work that I’ve read. In this it reminds me of Terry Pratchett in that each book stands on its own but there is a world and a worldview which gives each book depth. Don’t get me wrong, these are not Discworld books, but they do have the same way of putting real people into fantasy (in this case fairytale) settings and treating those characters with empathy and and sense of how humans work. It.s well performed but there are some editing errors where we get the same sentence twice but for myself this is minor when you’re being swept along on such a great flood of a story
