Good story line
Enjoyable story line and well read. The attraction between the main characters was not over the top which often distracts from the story.
Looking forward to listening to the rest of the series.

Refreshingly different!
Very good introduction to new characters and a reintroduction to some old favourites.

Books just keep getting better
After the Glass and Steele books, it was a for gone conclusion I would read this book and the next. I've now learned there is a 3rd book out in September23. can't wait. they are well read, well planned and and extremely engaging books. you pick up one and can't put it down until finished. C.J. ARCHER is one of the best authors around. and Marian Hussey's narration style is perfect for these books.

Worth a listen
Totally enjoyed listening to this book in the way to work. Just a shame I had to wait eight hours before enjoying the listening again on the way home.

Light hearted post WWI mystery novel
Thought the take on magicians was interesting - more like experts in their fields/jobs. Might get the 2nd in the series the characters should make for an interesting take as well as the era
