Summary

A Drekki Flynt Novel

In his first full-length novel, the swashbuckling Drekki Flynt finds himself at the mercy of his nemesis, Rogi Throkk, who sends him to find the fabled talisman of Achromia...or die trying.

Listen to it because

This high-flying, high-stakes tale follows the incorrigible Drekki Flynt as a simple job draws him and his crew into a sprawling conspiracy.

The story

Drekki Flynt! Captain of the Aelsling, known throughout the Skyshoals of Achromia! Say his name and make half a tavern starry-eyed, while the other half mutters about how much money he owes them.

Drekki Flynt! Uncommonly tall for a duardin—an adventurer, an endrineer, a wit and a self-proclaimed genius.

Drekki Flynt...is in trouble.

Lured by the promise of a lucrative contract, Drekki finds himself at the mercy of his nemesis, Rogi Throkk, who gives him an ultimatum—recover the fabled talisman of Achromia, or die. As it is, Drekki will probably die anyway, but that's really not Throkk's problem. Braving perils including—but not limited to—giant air-beasts, grot pirates, and terrible storms, the crew of the Aelsling is sucked into a conspiracy that will see an ancient empire rise again, or fall forever to Chaos...

loved the entire thing.

As with most Warhammer books there's a lot of very specific vocabulary that I feel not everyone will understand but the context surrounding makes it easy to assume the meaning. The book itself was amazing, brilliant characters a gripping story and wonderful narrators with plenty of unique voices.

One of the best AoS books I have read, action, pirates and intrigues with interesting characters, worth the money!

Great potential character

Well being a fan of the old warhammer fantasy game and lore I have stayed away from AoS as the new setting of realms etc I just did not like. Got this book as have always been a big fan of dwarves and have liked the aesthetic of the kharadon overlord models so thought I’d give this a try. It was a very enjoyable tale with great narration and being honest it kind of reminds me of the original gotrek and felix novels in the way they kind of jumped around a bit leaving you thinking the chapters could have been longer with more details and character development done in them but as the series grew this started to happen and that series of books is still my favourite. But this character and crew I feel has the potential to be as good as that if we get just a bit more of a complete storyline and more development of the characters. It really was a fun listen and high paced with some great potential foes and allies even a wee love interest for Capt Flynt to engage with as he and his crew go on adventures. I honestly hope Guy further develops this character and produces a series of engaging and enjoyable stories as this character has the potential to be a huge fan favourite.

Fly along to the sky of chamon

a very enjoyable story of adventure and the daring life of Drekki Flynt.

The story overall is very self contained and I do not think it requires the read to know much of the Warhammer univers .

Fantastic

A great book, really expands the lore of the kharadron and the world in which they operate. Made me start collecting the kharadron.
