brilliant... but.. potential to be upt a notch
firstly I will say. please do listen to these books. they are really good.
what I say next is maybe because I have read lots in this NA genre....
a few scenes, which were skimmed over in after thoughts " times with the high lord when he"establishes" his authority... could have been written into a chapters with trigger warnings of course" but I feel those opportunities were....missed.. its the "shock" factor which sometimes can make a book, that much deeper. in a strange way. that is one example.
but please do not mistake. iv enjoyed these book

Action packed
This is the second installment in The Forsaken series, we continue with the story of Ronan and Reyna, and this one is getting hotter and more interesting by the minute. The brilliant performance done by Stella Hunter, James Joseph, and Shane East in the audiobook, made this story more entertaining, they all captured each emotion of their characters in a way that had me hearing it non-stop. The story is action-packed so it is well paced and simply captures you from the start. Can't wait to find out what comes next.

This is a wonderful story set in a colourful and vibrant world full of magic and gods.
This is a brilliant second instalment in the Forsaken series by the very talented Meg Anne. There is so much to this book and having had my heart ripped open by the first, this one beautifully sewed it back together only to rip it open again. This is a wonderful story set in a colourful and vibrant world full of magic and gods.
Definitely worth a listen.

The Best Audio Trio in the Universe!!!!
"If a book is well written than I always find it too short" Jane Austen
Every now and again along comes a writer who is so good that I immediately become obsessed and want to read everything that they have ever written. 2022 belongs to Meg Anne for me, and her new series The Forsaken, is my personal favourite.
What is not to love in this action packed high romantasy epic??? Together with her (I'm really starting to run out of adjectives for them) extraordinary trio of actors who she gets to perform these books, she expertly crafts a world that I quite happily run away to and spend hours lost in. There is no other word for it but it is some kind of special alchemy that Meg Anne, Stella Hunter, Shane East and James Joseph weave together to bring this beautiful adventure to life so that I can easily lap this up in one listen. You don't read this book, you get absorbed into it, like only the best stories can.
Book 2 picks up straight after the knife edge (pun intended) of a cliffhanger so you are already off and running in this high octane drama. Ronan is determined to get his beautiful assassin Shadow out of the clutches of the seductively sinister High Lord Erebos - so naturally this means stealing away to the high seas on a ship with a bunch of pirates!!! Was all the ground Ronan made with Shadow in book 1 all for nothing? Will she ever truly remember him? Will Shadow resolve the internal conflict in herself of wanting to kill Ronan or kiss him? Can you ever win against a vengeful and merciless God? All these delicious dilemmas and more await you in this book.
The characters in this series are always amazing and my personal favourite the incorrigible but none the less adorable Bast is back. But this time there are more, did I mention there were pirates in this one ;) My younger self did a little jump for joy when the crew of the ship "Revenge" (of course that's its name) turn up and they are truly delightful, and my only slight criticism of this book is that they could have been in this a lot more. Especially when you find yourself having a huge crush on the Captain, the beautiful enchantress that is Calipso.
But like I always say, you NEED to experience these books in audio. They are epic audio dramas staged for you by your very own expert troupe of actors who are out of this world.
Stella Hunter continues to absolutely floor me with every new book I listen to, how she was able to instantly seduce me as Calipso is an astounding feat. Not to mention her talent as the myriad of other characters she plays including our brilliant badass heroine Shadow and her internal struggles with herself and trying to remember who she really is.
Shane East knows how to maximise his innate charisma and that gravelly seductive voice of his. He is able to seamlessly portray alpha protector, ravishing seductor, vulnerable lover and all round genuinely adorable which is testament to his skill as an actor. He is the perfect Ronan and is perfect to listen to in your headphones and just block out the world around you.
James Joseph......it's hard for me to not just start keyboard screaming at how much I adore listening to him. He is a PHENOMENAL performer and a truly talented actor. He just embodies the characters he tackles, whether it is the absolutely terrifying but at the same time hypnotic villain Erebos, the swoony Irish lilt of handsome pirate Bron or the outrageous and lovable French rouge Bast. He just absolutely blows my mind with how awesome he is and if you haven't started listening to him yet then start right here. An excellent showcase and as a true patriot I claim that Brits just do it better!! ;)
If you want a true absorbing adventure with pirates, action, drama, romance and a healthy dose of humour then get yourself this book now!!!
