K. Loraine
About this listen
Jensen, Finn, Christian, and Rhys.
One is my protector, another my best friend, the third my betrothed, and the fourth...something else entirely.
And I want them all.
I never thought I'd fall for more than one man, but then again, I didn't think I would wake up on my birthday the queen of the Shadow Court, hunted, in danger, and unable to control my newfound fae powers. Which seem to get stronger the more I give in to my need for these men.
In order to claim my title, I have to complete a set of trials with my men at my side. But a dark force is out to kill me, and every day that passes they get closer to their goal.
I spent my life thinking I was human. I couldn't have been more wrong.
Now the fate of the Shadow Court fae rests on my shoulders.
I am Queen of the Shadow Court, they are my men, and nothing will stop me from taking my throne.
This book contains M/F, M/M, and M/F/M/M/M scenes. Originally published in serialized form as The Queen of the Shadow Court, this title has been re-edited, and more content has been added.

Tried this book, didn’t regret it
I’m adventurous. I don’t usually read PNR, nor reverse harem. And the author was new to me. But I tried this book, and I didn’t regret it one second.
The fantasy world, where faes, vampires and shifters cohabit, with its specific rules, was fascinating. The fact that its fate falls on the shoulders of a young woman brings this book close to YA novels. Except that it isn’t suitable for young readers. At all.
It’s a reverse harem, and one quite steamy with that. I even felt that all of Maeve’s relationships were based on lust, not love. The romance, at first, wasn’t always clear. But once they know each other, they have very emotional moments. Maeve has powerful scenes with each of her lovers. They’re also all so different from each other that you’ll end up with a favorite, even though Maeve has none.
I’d have loved for the trials that Maeve has to endure to be more difficult, or more developped. They mean something though, and Maeve’s whole story is a coming-of-age story. Not only her: some of her lovers have to overcome their own challenge to deserve their place in her harem.
The main reason I was able to plunge into this universe in the first place, was the narration. The multi-cast was perfect for the various points of view and the narrators chosen for each characters were well cast. Great performances. And the bonus story was adorable–and sexy.

Loved this
Brilliant story and the best narrators I’ve ever listened to. I almost felt I was in the story with all the characters. If you like this genre, it is well worth your credit.

Fantastic full cast narrated story
Such an amazing story! The narrators did a fantastic job, the story really grabbed you and transported you to the Shadow Court. The guys are to die for, and I thoroughly enjoyed the spice. The extra novella at the end was a lovely surprise too! Great value for money.

Amazing Full cast Fantasy Thriller!
All The Queen’s Men
This was an amazing, fantasy thriller in which Mauve finds her place in this whole new magical world, in which she was squirrelled away from as a child, after her parents were murdered. Mauve is a caring, sensitive yet fierce woman who falls for all 4 of her protectors/suitors when she enters that new world. The accents were what really pulled me into this book. All of the narrators were so engaging that it made it like hearing a play. Such adventures they all go through and the heat level of Mauve bedding each of her harem. I didn’t see who the villain was until the end. I thought it was going to be one of her aunts.
The story begins in the human world as Jensen and Finn are there protecting her before she comes back to the Fae realm. When she reaches the age of majority she awakens in this new world that is full of mystical beings such as Fae, vampires, werewolves and goblins as well as mermaids too!
Kim writes a wonderfully wicked world that anyone would love to see. All of the things that I would expect to see in such a fantasy world as well as so much more. Loved that Mauve just thinks it and it appears. Wish I could have those powers. She is such a fierce warrior as she completes the trials to prove her place as Queen. Even slaying a dragon to set free a Fae that’s within! Amazing audiobook for the adventure, done by a brilliant multi cast team of narrators. You’re going to want to have this book in your library!

Like listening to a play
This is the first time I have listened to a large ensemble cast. Wow. It was great. It was like listening to an old fashioned radio play. The narration was brilliant from all narrators. The story was good too.

I'm in audio book lover heaven
My first fae story. I’ve never been a fan. I don’t even know why. But I knew if anyone could get me to like it, it would be K. Loraine – my personal queen of paranormal romance. And, boy, did she ever succeed. The fact that this is a RH romance (which I’m a sucker for if it’s done right) and the audio being a full cast experience jam-packed with some of my favorite narrators didn’t hurt either. Because, OH MY GOD, did I fall for this deliciously steamy and mystical suspense story and Mauve and her four guys!
The guys. All so different and unique, each of them bringing another element into the relationship dynamic. Each of them not only physically (because, duh, audio book) having their own distinctive voices, but mentally, even emotionally too. It’s the most critical thing with a reverse harem – if the balance isn’t given, they will all blend together, making the group feel ingenuine and, in all honesty, unnecessary – who needs four times the same type of man at once? Lol.
The story. Magical. Captivating. Hot. Thrilling. Compelling. Amazing world building. Fantastic, vastly different characters. Full of lust and passion, adventure and suspense. A story of friendship, war, elements, history, power and a prophesy that needs to be fulfilled. A world of not only different types of faes, but vampires and sea creatures too. Intricate. Intriguing.
The narration. All-star. Multicast. Duet style. I think I’ve died and gone to heaven. Stella Hunter perfectly portraying Mauve. Then Jason Clarke, Jacob Morgan, Teddy Hamilton, and Shane East as her love interests … good god, did I mention I was in audio book heaven? All stellar voice actors, all bringing their respective characters to life flawlessly, making them even more complex, more fascinating, more intense, more unique, MORE! Add in Wesleigh Siobhan, who was new to me, and Kylie Stewart as the voices of supporting characters, and you have an epic performance for every paranormal romance audio book lover. Gah!

Amazing!
I don't know what it is about K Loraine, but she can pull me into a paranormal, reverse harem romance and make me like it! These are not my typical tropes and I normally stay far away from them. But every time releases one out on audio, she grabs my attention and I am hooked! Their Shadow Queen series introduces us to Maeve. Growing up, things seemed normal. Then off to college and she meets her roommates Jensen and Finn who are really there to protect her. At 21, things all change and Maeve is forced into a world she knows nothing about. Destined to be the Shadow Queen, she has new powers and responsibilities as well as threats that could endanger their entire world. Her two protectors are there and the addition of Christian and Rhys come in adding the last of what is needed to complete Maeve. But will the four be able to keep her safe? Can they all be trusted? And are they be willing to share their lives to be with her? Fae, vampires, witches along with a suspenseful plot and steamy passion led to hours of listening entertainment. The story captured my attention, having the perfect mix of angst and excitement. The flow is easy and characters fantastic. Plus we have a bonus story for Valor that is fantastic!! I This is a book that you do not want to miss!
To top off this amazing story, Loraine casts a team of narrators in duet style narration that is stellar! Stella Hunter, Shane East, Jason Clarke, Teddy Hamilton, Jacob Morgan, Wesleigh Siobhan, Kylie Stewart each add their voice and bring it all to life. It's engaging, the accents amazing, and each narrator perfectly fit to the character, as if she wrote the story with their voice in mind. It's a fantastic listen!

Narrators were excellent but the story is not!
There were a number of mistakes such as the wrong names being used for characters and the story line was really flimsy. Loved the narrators and the full cast but unfortunately they couldn’t save a rather boring storyline. Too much instalove and not enough description.
