Summary
A sapphic fantasy romance for people who love dangerous women, magical worlds, and lesbian pirates.
Emilia Drakon was once the youngest and kindest of the dragon sorcerers, but she's now the last of her kind. Betrayed and angry, she trades her meekness for a sword and embarks on a quest for vengeance that will lead her straight into the arms of the legendary Captain Maria Welles.
Captain of the famed pirate ship, the Wicked Fate, Maria is every bit as treacherous and bloodthirsty as they say. She has her own vendetta and practically jumps at the chance to trick Emilia into joining her crew.
But when their animosity toward each other blossoms into a passionate romance, the two women will have to decide what they want most.

Leaves you wanting more.
Firstly this is a fabulous , somewhat steamy fantasy & I loved it. The only problem is I get the feeling there should be a series before this as I always felt like there was so much I didn’t fully understand. The other issue is I’m now desperate to listen to the next one but have no idea if & when there will be one. Fingers crossed as this is definitely worth listening to but perhaps better to wait for the sequel & or prequel to this first.

My first step into saphic fanstasy
I loved this story, and loved the characters, however I felt the ending was very rushed. I would have loved to of had the final battle played out. I also would have loved abit more details aboout the world and why the king is the way he is. Overall I enjoyed it but I just wanted abit more

What a story!
This is one of my favourite books I've listened to yet on audible. It's a longer book but I finished it in 3 days! It's so good lol.
The narrator is new to me, but her voices were all different and her ability to bring the story to life is one of the best I've heard. I'll be looking for more books narrated by her, she's very good!
I'm glad to read there will be a 2nd book coming sometime, and hopefully it's brought to audible too. If this was a standalone book I'd be sad that we never got to fully enjoy the main women as a couple because the book came to an end as they finally got there. As someone else mentioned, the end did feel a bit short, but knowing it will continue makes that alright. It wasn't a bad ending, I've just enjoyed this book that much that I want moooorreeeee.

One of the..........
One of the best audiobooks i have listened to in a long time ! The author conjures a vivid world of romance and adventure which pulls you in. This epic is more rounded than most audios which tend to short change you with back stories and rushed endings. the author seems to care about the story and the listeners. There is a cliffhanger and I for one can't wait for book 2 !!!!
The only blip is captain Maria's voice ,it's a bit too masculine and doesn't fit with her glamorous description (maybe LD can tweak it a bit next time ?)
The book is really funny at times and the narrator does a great job !
It may be a little slow to start but soon warms up. Minor characters add to the whole , all in all the author has given up a real epic !

Slow and predictable
it takes around 8hrs listening to get anywhere in the plot of the story
Hardly enemies to lovers (Amelia doesnt stop obsessing over how hot captain Maria is from the second they meet), Amelia seems to do nothing but obsess over how hot every character is and is depticted as extremely 'thirsty'all the way through. With a huge emphasis on her potential to be a strong female lead that never gets proven due to her weak character design.
overall it had the potential to be an exciting story with a good fantacy foundation which fell flat due to boring characters with not much substance and a lack of action as most of the writing was based around day-to-day interactions . i could see it being enjoyable for teen audiences but i found it it to be not in my taste. really good performance from the audio reader though
