About this listen

Beers. Oktoberfest. The Apocalypse.

Leading astrophysicist Liam Jackson is participating in a scientist exchange program in Germany when a curveball of universal proportions is thrown at him. Planes fall from the sky, cars explode, and strange particles rain down from the heavens as monsters appear out of thin air.

The laws of physics have changed in the world. The fundamental forces of the universe are behaving differently, and Liam needs to understand them if he wants to survive.

Physics of the Apocalypse is a LitRPG series that combines the wonders of the cosmos with magic and science. Find out what base-building can look like in a medieval castle, how 3D printing can be used to create magic items, and how spacetime, nuclear, and quantum physics are combined with spellcasting.

research was done

the author had done some reasearch in the matters he is writing about, some not as in detail as someone in the field would understand, but sufficient to make the read enjoyable!

Engaging story, piercing performance

The setting is engagingly written, with well rounded and humanised characters. The narration, while competant and with a solid mix of voices, suffers two fatal flaws, a very aggressive lisp and a generally nasally performance, sounding rather like a snake with a blocked nose. Due to the lack of post processing, this results in extremely harsh S sounds, like being read out by a softer voiced daffy duck. It doesn't completely kill the book for me but I do have to very heavily EQ my headphonea in order to listen to it, which is a shame because its oyherwise a good performance. This just desperately needs an audio engineer.
