About this listen

Leadership is not some special club, open only to elites. It's not a gold star given to those with fancy titles and expensive degrees. Leadership is what we all try to do every day.

Based on the author's hard-won experience, this smart, fun book delivers a step-bystep working manual on how to lead - for anyone. Full of simple and direct approaches, it demystifies an over-analysed subject to get to the heart of modern leadership: the life-changing, career-transforming power to get stuff done.

These principles and actionable steps apply to every field, from small businesses to community initiatives, from schools to sports teams to global enterprises. You'll emerge with a clear understanding of culture and its importance, of how to confidently make decisions, and how to create teams that outperform the competition. Ultimately, you'll find that we can all be leaders, we just need to get on with it.©2019 Chris Hirst (P)2019 Hachette Audio UK

Simple but not easy

There’s not a lot of fat in this book. If you’re a highlighter of key phrases you’d need to dip the whole thing in fluorescent ink. That doesn’t mean it an intellectual or hard listen, it’s not, quite the opposite. This book is practical and full of actual steps you can take to lead better and make your organization and yourself more successful.
A good read.

Great content

Having come to leadership through the theory rather than much experience this book is very refreshing. With a focus on action and authenticity. The narration is somewhat lacklustre but the content carries through.

One of the better leadership books I have come across

I enjoyed every minute of this audiobook. It was concise and to the point and just as the title suggests.

I found it a good summary of many of the other books I have read or listened to, to date, along with a easy to understand and logical suggestion which most should be able to adapt to themselves very easily. Highly recommended.

A grower, worth the wait

I’ve read my fair share of similar books and this stands out for a good reason. It’s evocative in a good way and makes you reflect.
I did learn things and enjoyed the experience.
It still has a fair share of ‘so what’ content but generally worth completing. Give it a try.

Leadership

Simply brilliant clear concise and to the point with the flowery words of many other leadership books. If you want to truly be a good leader this is the book for you.

So clear, so simple, so very well told.

I have made many teams, mainly small, over many years. This book reinforces the things I’ve experienced as working well, and an explanation for those times when it didn’t workout. I have found it an inspiration: to keep things simple, work hard, know where you are, know where you want to be, and get there, with others. Helping each other be our and their best.

Finally a decent leadership book!

Loved it, as it says it how it is and suggestions of how it should be.

Get to the point!

For a book written by someone who self proclaims to hate timewasting, this book wasted half an hour of my commute trying frantically to get to any form of point! I dont want to finish it now as it's a complete contradiction. "Frustrating" is my one word summary!

listen intensely

Well there are some very good advises and points. I needed to listen this over a few times, because if my mind starts to wander, I get lost in the book. Not my favourite book, but decent enough
