About this listen

Mercy is the gripping follow-up to Long Road to Mercy, A Minute to Midnight and Daylight featuring Special Agent Atlee Pine from one of the world’s most favourite thriller writers, David Baldacci.

The hunt is finally over.

FBI agent Atlee Pine is at the end of her long journey to discover what happened to her twin sister, Mercy, who was abducted when the girls were just six years old - an incident that destroyed her family and left Atlee physically and mentally scarred.

She knew her sister and parents were out there somewhere. And she had to find them. Dead or alive.

Atlee and her assistant, Carol Blum, discover the truth. But the truth hurts. And hurt makes you tough. So how tough do you have to be to forgive?

As they uncover a shocking trail of lies, greed, fear and revenge, they must face one final challenge. A challenge more deadly and dangerous than they could ever have imagined.

A great ending.

I hope this is not the end for Atley as she is a nice change of pace. The usual coincidences that are beyond the realm of possibility, but it's artistic license and you know what your getting. The conclusion of the hunt for Mercy is a fitting end to this chapter.

Not his best

Glad to see a neat conclusion to the story, but found it a bit gory in places.

Satisfying conclusion

Have really enjoyed this series of books, and Baldacci kept the pressure on to the last. Really glad to see a series where the strong female lead doesn’t have to define herself by some kind of romantic entanglement. Partly, this is achieved by writing Pine the same way many of the writer’s male leads are written, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

The narration is excellent, with distinct voices coming through, so I’d very much recommend the audiobook version I’ve been enjoying. Definitely start with the first in the series, then sit back and enjoy.

Great Ending to the Trilogy

I was concerned the stories would drag out but far from it. No idea whats happening next with all the twists! Really enjoyed it.

Abit too much action

I loved the first 2 books in the series but found the characters abit too predictable and the plot is too far fetched. probably typical balddaci style but it's getting very repeatative and too predictable. The female narrator was very good but the male had a monotonous voice with the same tone and pitch which made is difficult to distinguish the characters

overall not too bad but was expecting better having waited so long for the 3rd book in the trilogy

Loved this series and what a finale!

Enjoyed the last book in the series. Great escapism - was gripped until the very end. Would love more Atlee Pine stories.
