About this listen

Love is in the air on what should have been the perfect day for a wedding, until someone offs the wedding planner.

The wedding planner had done a great job. Predictably, he did his best to jack up the price with extras to please the mother of the bride who insisted on a traditional, monochromatic wedding. Even so, the bride prevailed, and Trina and Bill’s wedding burst with color.

The victim also worked as event planner at the local country club, where he was popular with the men for his organizational skills, and with the ladies for other reasons. Due to special circumstances, a detective is called in from county to run the investigation. Everyone is treated as a suspect–including Stacie, momzilla, the wedding party, and all the guests. With happy and less happy clients, an ex-wife, and more, the suspect pool seems endless.

As the investigation goes sideways, Stacie’s instincts kick in as she tries to identify the killer on her own. As a result, a series of suspicious incidents ensue with Stacie as the target. Can she figure out who killed the wedding planner?

Weddings can be murder

I enjoyed this book. At book eight and having been here from the start, I know what to expect, there is a murder, Stacie gets involved, becomes a target, her friends rally around and the bad guy or girl gets caught. But it is so much more than that and it is more the journey, meaning I really like the series, the friendships and the romance. Each book is a standalone with each case wrapped up nicely and can be read in any order but if you want to read (or listen) to how the budding relationship develops and the previous cases and relationships effect Stacie, then enjoy the series. Stacie is a capable character and despite her life being in danger she doesn't play the damsel in distress or the amuter slueth breaking into suspects houses. This does mean most of the action is behind the scenes and we learn what happened (The confession etc) during a discussion and the same time as Stacie, somehow this works and I keep returning to the series for more. The mystery contained plenty of suspects to keep you guessing.
It is Bill and Trina's big day. Trina's mother might have planned the wedding with the help of the event planner but Trina still got her way by adding bursts of colour where she could in the flowers and cake. Trina was expecting there to be a murder when her mother saw but not that of the event planner. With most of the police department at the wedding as guests outside help is called in, until they can be eliminated but that brings its own problems. With he bride and groom safely away on there honeymoon before the body was discovered, Stacie as once a former golf club member is asked to identify some of the guests that had already left. In doing so, she angers her former father in law and the killer putting herself in both of these target lists. Can Stacie learn enough to help the police before the killer gets to her?
I liked the narrator but did have to slow the speed down or I wasn't talking in what she was saying. Once I did that I enjoyed her narration and the story.

Great Listen.

This is another well written mystery from Christa Nardi. When a murder takes place at a wedding at which Stacie is a contributing guest there are plenty of suspects including Stacie herself. Fast paced short story with plenty of twists and turns along the way. Highly recommended. Naomi Rose-Mock's narration is spot on as she helps bring the whole book to life.

Enjoyable cozy mystery

I love this series. Well written cozy mysteries with great characters, entertaining plots, lots of good suspects and a cute dog. Stacie is bridesmaid at her friends wedding when the wedding organiser is murdered, with her detective boyfriend and half the local police including the groom on scene, a county detective is assigned. I really like Stacie but people keep dying around her and she keeps getting mixed up in the cases despite everyone's best efforts. The narration is great as always, bringing the story to life. I highly recommend this series. i received a complimentary copy of the audio from the author and am leaving a honest voluntary review

Good narration and story

So whenever I see a new Stacie Maroni story I always prioritise it as they are always such a fun listen. The narrator does such a superb job I really get into the story. Boy does Stacie have a busy life, but how do they afford so many restaurants, I get that is why she has to save money on the car.

The plot is similar to the other plots - this one could be read as a standalone but I would recommend starting at the beginning to so that you really get into the relationships that Stacie has, they will make more sense.
