About this listen
An urgent call from Stacie Maroni’s friend, Meredith, interrupts the sleuth’s New Year's Eve plans for a romantic evening. Instead, she and Detective Michael O'Hare rush to the country club only to find it is too late to help their friend. Not quite how they wanted to bring in the New Year. A fully booked event for the annual bash translates into an overabundance of suspects and a variety of motives.
Never one to back away from a challenge, Stacie's sleuthing skills kick in. When a wannabe reporter blogs about the murder and implies that Stacie knows the killer’s identity, the investigation takes a dangerous turn. Stacie’s faced with secrets and memories, along with hints of organized crime lurking in the shadows.

Bitterness betrayal and murder
This is a decently paced murder mystery. The story kept you intrigued and the characters were definitely interesting. The narrator was nice.

Very Good
Another very good listen from Christa Nardi. New Years Eve brings yet another murder in to Stacey Maroni's life. Can she and her cop boyfriend find the killer. Naomi Rose-Mock does a stirling job with the narration and despite a few very bad edits which I found distracting the book still deserves it's 5 stars.
I was kindly given a copy of the book and leave this honest review.

New year, new murder investigation
I enjoyed this book. I think I got more caught up in this book than some of the others in the series, mainly because we had met the murder victim before. That's not to say I didn't enjoy the previous books because I did, it's a good series. It's just that already knowing the character I felt invested in the investigation. All the favourite characters are present and lending a hand ( ice cream and cookies) or throwing up road blocks. The mystery was well worked with lots of suspects and investigating. Although most of the questioning is done off scene and the characters give a recap of what was said, but that works keeping the story flowing along nicely. This author writes about a number of different series, she knows what her fans want and makes certain that she gives it to them. Look forward to the next book.
New year celebrations comes to a grinding halt for Stacie and her boyfriend, when she receives a fabric phone call from a friend claiming someone is trying to kill her. Meredith can't be reached at the country club and there desperate actions fail to find her in time. Stacie will need to use her knowledge of the country club members to help solve the murder but the killer doesn't want to be found. When threatening phone calls, stalking and a pushy reporter doesn't stop her, things turn dangerous. Can she help find the killer?
I like the narrator, she has a distinctive voice that helps transport you in to Stacie's world.

Good one
An entertaining cozy mystery. this is an excellent series with good characters. A phone call on New year's Eve drags Stacy into another Mystery. The narration is good and Naomi does a fine job despite some distracting odd edits.

Always delivers an enjoyable listen
I do enjoy a listen to anything written by Christa Nardi and her narrators. Together they bring the story to life and you can just listen to them. These are short listens, written for adults with strong female leads but are still clean, so you don't mind listening to them on a speaker (when your teenage children ask what you are listening to).
personally I would read/listen to them in order as you get the relationships building (and also get to understand their love of cookies and ice-cream which is a nice touch.
