Loved the narration of Samuel James, who keeps you wanting to listen and brings this thriller to your ears. Perfect
Ex DCI Luke is now Head of Ethics at Filchers, a business sourcing company in Bath.
While watching a rugby match. Luke is asked to look into a hedge fund which is producing startling figures. Luke and his team of Sam, Helen, Maj and Josh find themselves immersed into a world of online gambling, spot fixing and murder. Also trying to find the dangerous Mr Smith.
There is plenty of humour great characters. An excellent fast paced thriller.

Brilliant!
I keep thinking this Luke Sackville series cannot get any better but once again Mr Richards has proved me wrong. This book 5 "Lethal Odds" is superb. It is well researched and well plotted with Luke and his team being called in to investigate irregularities in a hedge fund and Online gambling and spot fixing, all of which lead to murder. All the regular characters are there and it is really necessary to have read the previous books in the series so that you can follow their development and relationships. The story is a bit dark in places but there is also the humour that Steve builds in to all his stories. I'm looking forward to "Sow the Wind" already, roll on book 6. The talented Sam James excels himself once again with the narration and helps make this one of my favourite books of the year.

A fun easy read
I have read all the books in the series and particularly like the plot lines which tackle modern-day crimes. They have the familiar elements of crime fiction but the main characters work in the ethics department of a large business, which is refreshingly different.
Fast-paced and humorous, Lethal Odds builds on the back-stories of the characters in the ethics team with another tale full of suspence and intrigue.

Lacklustre
This is the 5th book in the series and having listened to them all I do feel that to understand the characters etc you need to have listened to all of them as they do all follow on somewhat. This series has, in my opinion, not really gone anywhere and is getting totally unbelievable. I have persevered with it as there is so much potential there but unfortunately it has remained a little lacklustre and disappointing.
The characters are very similar to other popular 'detective' books on the market at the moment (although not as well written) even down to the good looking twenty something male character that is so stupid he wouldn't get a job sweeping the streets in real life yet here he is working in a high flying company in the 'Ethics' Dept. I don't think I shall listen to any more in the series when there are so many other books in the same genre that are so much better written.
