An Arch Magus dies, only to find himself in the body of a young man in a medieval kingdom. He finds out that he is the second son of a Duke, exiled to a desolated town by his own family. Shackled by the notorious reputation of his new shell, he tries his best to develop his domain, implementing new policies and innovations, leading his subjects to prosperity. This captured my imagination.

Not many books capture my imagination but this one ticks all the boxes for me. So far the story has kept my attention and wanting more.

basic mary sue but well done.

great flow and structure. but its as imaginative as a child with mild autism.
there is a disease mentioned which has imagination. the rest is just a basic story of "i am great i do everything first time!"

still. its better than many lit rpg addict injections.

well structured and not silly compared to others. never trys to be funny.

Wow.

I hesitated for a week or so on this one with many poor books previously.
I'm so glad I pulled the trigger. The only disappointment is that only the first instalment is available.

Without spoilers;
There is no great unnecessary build up to the main story, you're straight into the main line.

I've seen reviews suggesting the main character isn't "very nice"; had I been the author I may have added a few more pleasantries, however taking the the books as a whole and knowing where the MC comes from it works as is.

Some may not like the over-powered nature of the MC. But this is the story; an Arch Mage re-incarnated. He is supposed to be over-powered.

I Loved the narration too. It's my first experience with Tom Taylorson and I have to say his voice acting, speed and intensity was a perfect fit. Very well done. I only usually reserve 5 stars for Nick Pohdel like performances, this was very close and didn't deserve to lose a star based on the name alone.

I think my only concern is that if this is really two books that happens to have been concatenated into one, will I now have been drawn into spending a credit on the next 6-7 hour volume?

Lastly I would just point to another series for those that also enjoyed this one waiting for the next instalment - Destiny's Crucible, it has a similar line (someone with advanced knowledge injected into a less advanced environment and saving the day), just without magic of any kind.

Fantastic!

Compelling story, fantastic narration.
I’ve heard there is a book 3 & 4 in the series. Can’t find it on audible at the moment but certainly looking forward to it once it’s released!

Reincarnation gem

This book is amazing, it contains city building and warfare tactics. Out of all the litrpgs/gamelit novels I've listened to this one uses real life strategies when in battle. The author has done a great job, he has provided many technical aspects to this book combined with loads of lore. The world setting and magic system is really interesting as well.

I cant wait for the next one!
