Summary
She never expected to fall in love with a mafia don. He never expected to fall in love at all. But will their love be enough?
Four weeks ago, Jaxon Pace, the billionaire "Don Supreme" of Chicago's underground mafia syndicates, took a bullet.
This bullet was meant for the only girl who stole his heart, the beautiful Natalie Tyler, a simple nurse from Miami.
Overwhelmed by the horrors she witnessed in Chicago, Natalie chose to return home, leaving the broken and brokenhearted Jaxon Pace to recover on his own.
A month after her visit, Natalie's heart still belongs to Jaxon—and you better believe The Don Supreme is coming to collect his woman. But when he arrives, he learns that Natalie has a little surprise for him: She is pregnant.
However, his enemies will give the happy couple no reprieve. Especially Jaxon's presumed-dead ex-girlfriend, Rachel, and her psychotic brother, Michael. They are the leaders of Chicago's newest twisted mafia clan, the Two-Headed Dragon.
The Two-Headed Dragon has one goal: the complete destruction of the Pace Family Mafia. If successful, they will destroy the entire mafia hierarchy that has guided Chicago's underworld for a century, sending the city into complete chaos.
Will Natalie & Jaxon's love be enough to defeat the dangers of the present and the demons of the past?
Filled with exhilarating highs, steamy romance, and heart-pounding suspense, Ignite picks up where Catalyst left off, and joins our favorite mafia couple as they fight for each other in a world filled with deceit, depravity, and unspeakable darkness.
This is book two of four in the Heart of the Inferno series.

Keep it coming!
I cannot get enough of this series. When I first saw how long the books were, I was hesitant that it was going to a lot of filler. But NO! Nicole Fanning has created a world that is exciting, emotional and has me in love and on edge all at the same time. Each chapter is packed with more information, more relationship building, and more love. I love it! This book picks up where Catalyst left off, and things are getting more dangerous. Rachel is on the loose, Jaxon is shot and Natalie is angry and scared! Where do we go from here? Well, I can't give away all the story, but let me suffice it to say that there are twists and turns that I did not see coming. From tragedy to complete surprise, I found my mouth hanging open. And I have to say that the secondary characters are so important, that my heart is invested in their well being too. Ethan, Charlie, Levi, and Steph they are all incredible. Nicole Fanning is bringing it, and this is a series you should not miss.
Maxine Mitchell and Grayson Owens continue their movie in your mind narration of this amazing series. I love how they continuity of voices from book to book makes it so easy to know which character is speaking. Mitchell holds all the cards when it comes to Natalie. She is emotionally driven but shows a strength even she didn't know she had. Owens is a true leader, ruthless when he has to be, but his heart shows when it comes to his wife and daughter. Love these two and I can't wait to delve into Flashpoint!

Heartwrenching twists and turns
This is #2 of the Hearts of the Inferno series and must be read in sequence.
We find Natalie back in Miami, having left Jaxon recovering from being shot in Chicago, and meet her friends and favourite patient, Walter.
The heat then suddenly becomes blistering hot with various attacks made on her and this is where I had to suspend belief.
Natalie, the one filled with insecurities, now knows best and can't take any instructions without some form of argument, not happy to be protected when even her house blows up. Really??
Added to which we have the powerful Jaxon and Don of Chicago become pu&&ywhipped! I love a man who falls Head over heels in love, but seriously the head of a crime syndicate doing this? I don't somehow think so. I just found their continual head butting infuriating.
There are times though when she does come into her own and proves that she is Queen of Hearts e.g. when she saves the day with Sophie using her nursing skills, becoming firm friends with her and Gabriel and again saves Jaxon in a gun attack - what is it about garages in this series??
I love their romance and the highlights for me were his proposal, their wedding and the Christmas festivities. The tragedy is heart breaking though 💔 😢 and throughout .. the suspense never stops with the threat from the Two Headed Dragon and ... secrets are revealed that could topple this clan and moreover ... we are left with the mother of all cliffhangers!!
The #dualnarration is excellent by #maxinemitchell and #graysonowens and now moving swiftly onto Flashpoint.
