About this listen

I found my angel. Then I broke her wings.

Alexis should've never set foot in my world. Men like me stain girls like her. We take their innocence and tear it to shreds.

She thinks she's tough. She thinks she can handle me. But she doesn't know just how deep my darkness goes.

It was for the best that I claimed her for a night and left her behind. Anything more than that would have been cruel. I thought I'd seen the last of Alexis Wright.

So imagine my surprise two years later when the door to my office opens...and she walks in. The girl I ravaged. The girl I devoured.

Now that she's in front of me again, I have just two questions for her: First - what is she doing here? And second...what does she mean, "our baby"?

Contains mature themes.

Accents!!!

Overall I enjoyed this books but the accents are a NO NO! If you can’t do them convincingly, don’t do them!
The narrators were good, man slightly better than the girl, at times I found her irritating.
Will I get book two, yeah I probably will but before I do, I will see if there is a better book to spend my credit on and hope that in time the books become a free download .

Good start to the series

I really liked this book, as mafia stories go, it was quite realistic, and thoroughly enjoyable!

All voice performers

Please, please, please if you are voicing the books not just this book never ever try doing accents especially Scottish.
The Glasweigian is nothing like an Irish accent. Just say '...... in his whatever accent ' and let the listener imagine what it is like! it will be 100% better than the performer.

A good mafia story

A good mafia story combines high-stakes drama with the gritty, shadowy world of organized crime, immersing readers in a realm of loyalty, betrayal, and moral ambiguity. The best examples give us complex characters—tough, hardened individuals who are driven by family loyalty, ambition, and survival instincts. A compelling mafia story typically explores themes of power, respect, and justice, often showing how characters navigate moral gray areas or fall into darker paths due to greed or revenge.

Strong pacing, clever dialogue, and intense conflict are crucial, as well as a strong sense of atmosphere, whether it's a smoky backroom or the lively streets of a city controlled by competing families. The story usually revolves around family dynamics, underhanded deals, and the ever-present threat of violence, capturing a uniquely suspenseful blend of action and drama. The best mafia tales, like The Godfather or Goodfellas, leave us questioning the true costs of loyalty and the destructive allure of power.

worst accents ever!

Very hollow, shallow storyline. Scottish accent sounded ridiculous. Nothing to grasp and an open end. Very uninspiring.

Awful

I'm amazed that I managed to get to chapter 12 there's no story, other than two people hooking up every time they meet!

Terrible narrator

Give this one a miss. The worst Irish/scottish accents ever. The male narrator is awful and one to avoid. Story not great & wont be bothering with book two ..

I did not like this one, sorry…

Gabriel is a walking red flag. There is literally no proper building up of their relationship, like 70% in I still wanted her to get the hell away from this man. So many times just rolling my eyes because the whole story is ridiculous. It could’ve been done better. I normally like these narrators but Gabriel’s accent was really really bad this time not to mention the attempted Scottish accent by the female narrator. I genuinely rather just listen to them reading it in American and imagine that they have an accent.
