About this listen
Dear Edie, I wanted you to know so many things. I wanted to tell you them in person, as you grew. But it wasn’t to be.
Jess never imagined she’d be navigating single motherhood, let alone while facing breast cancer. A life that should be just beginning is interrupted by worried looks, heavy conversations, and the possibility of leaving her daughter to grow up without her. Propelled by a ticking clock, Jess knows what she has to do: tell her daughter everything. How to love, how to lose, how to forgive, and, most importantly, how to live when you never know how long you have.
From best-selling author Laura Pearson comes her most devastating book yet. Honest, heart-wrenching, and emotionally raw, I Wanted You To Know is a true love letter to life: to all its heartache and beauty, to the people we have and lose, to the memories and moments that define us.
I Wanted You To Know is Laura Pearson's third novel.

I really needed this book as have lost friends, younger than me, to cancer. I now have some understanding of what they may have gone through.

Tearjerker alert!!
This book was recommended to me by an online book club and something in the blurb pulled me in!! I have cried like I’ve never cried at a book before and I am a cryer! Beautifully written and narrated and I hope I never have to go through what the people in the book go through.. why read it then I asked myself? Sometimes it’s just good to know what others have or are going through I guess and this one tells it well. Heart wrenching subject so be warned.

Beautifully narrated
I wanted you to know is a wonderful book it made me fall in love with the main character and really feel her pain and loss. I haven’t felt so much emotion and loss for a character as I did jess. The author really captured the little things

Heart wrenching
Firstly I just want to say this book would make an excellent TV movie strong story & at points very well written & easy to follow story the first half of the book is quite unpredictable & my heart sank for the main character. Being a mother myself at the time was a young single mother I went through a breast cancer scare when my daughter was very young this book hit home & in all honesty the subject matter made me feel anxious & quite depressed.
It’s a very heart wrenching story very depressing & sad especially when the main character just gets more bad luck after more bad luck litrally the worst thing just keeps on happening to her it sounds odd but at points I found the main character Jess slightly annoying I can’t quite put my finger on it I guess I just would of liked more spirit from Jess & for her to of spoken up for herself more ( no criticism intended). In the end though I found Jesses strength admirable with the tough decisions she made.
This book is 100% worth a read but be warned it’s a real tearjerker & gets to you great work from the author though a sad but good story.
Great narration too couldnt of picked a better narrator for this story.
