Very High Level - Poor Content

Would you try another book written by Jennifer Wells or narrated by Vickie Sloderbeck?

The content of the book was poor. It was extremely high level and kept pointing to you to look into matters further rather than giving any real help. It felt like the book was pitched at a child reader as it was so basic. Clearly this wasn't the case - it is a book aimed at parents in search of information. I could have found more information by doing a cursory Google search. I did feel that Jennifer Wells knew her information but just didn't really go far enough in sharing it.

I did also feel that, despite saying that she was presenting a balanced view and not her own agenda, that she did really believe that a gluten free diet was the best choice for everyone (even those without a known sensitivity - heavy weight experts such as Professor David Sanders would definitely disagree with this) and that a grain free diet was a good choice - I have to question whether pushing young children down the paleo route is to be recommended - surely not!!!

The narration was fine so I would definitely try another book narrated by Vickie Sloderbeck.

Has Gluten-Free Kids put you off other books in this genre?

No.

Would you be willing to try another one of Vickie Sloderbeck’s performances?

Yes.

You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Not really.

Any additional comments?

I definitely got the feeling that this book was put together to make a quick buck off the back of anxious parents. To be avoided.
