About this listen
A major mix-up at Blandings Castle, in which Galahad introduces yet another imposter to Lord Emsworth's residence and the Empress of Blandings gets sloshed in her sty. Formidable comic characters designed to interrupt Lord Emsworth's peace include his overbearing sister Lady Hermione Wedge who comes complete her own meddling secretary, and Dame Daphne Winkworth who has her eye on becoming the next Countess. As ever the stage is set for Gally to try and restore order to the ensuing chaos!

Beautifully read, great entertainment
A perfect match of Jarvis and Wodehouse. Galahad’s machinations are all priceless. A tale to tell!

Peerless
Martin Jarvis has no rivals as a narrator of the comic genius Wodehouse. Every voice is perfect. Wodehouse creates a world that feels as comforting as a warm bath with every word, as Jeeves would say, the mot juste.

One of the best
Although all of the plot lines and characters are familiar they come together beautifully in that very funnily and wonderfully read audiobook. Perfect.

Martin Jarvis and Blandings
I have always thought that Martin Jarvis is one of the most talented narrators ever. Many years ago when my younger son was growing up, we listened to him reading the Just William stories and were enchanted by his ability to bring the characters to life by his clever voicings, and the way he gets inside his characters. And here, in the Blandings Castle series of books he does the same. It’s pure genius and will have you hooting with laughter yet in awe of his skills as an actor too. I challenge anyone during these very tough times to pick up a P G Wodehouse, and if an audio is your preference, go for Martin Jarvis’s narrations, they are first class. Thank you Martin, your love for these characters is shown in the convincing way you handle their individuality with humour and affection.

Great Nonsense!
I enjoy listening to PG Woodhouse at bed time, especially when Martin Jarvis is narrating.

Excellent. A tonic to lift ones spirit.
A witty and sharp observation of human nature laid out in an ingenius plot, from a bygone era of innocent humour, that leaves one amused & light hearted. An uplifting contrast to the “politically correct & woke” judgements of the thought police of today. The narrator is excellent. A classical actor at his best.

Fantastic performance by Jarvis as ever
Another winner. It started off slow but once I got into it it was another cracking Wodehouse story with lots of great lines. Very entertaining.

Not the best Wodehouse
I thought that this was a bit stfled, didn't flow as well and was less funny that is usual with P. G. However still pretty good
