Summary
The Sunday Times bestseller and winner of the Irish Independent crime fiction book of the year!
Guilty?
A year ago, Leo Stone was convicted of murdering two women and sentenced to life in prison. Now he’s been freed on a technicality, and he’s protesting his innocence.
Not guilty?
DS Maeve Kerrigan and DI Josh Derwent are determined to put Stone back behind bars where he belongs, but the more Maeve digs, the less convinced she is that he did it.
The wrong decision could be deadly…
Then another woman disappears in similar circumstances. Is there a copycat killer, or have they been wrong about Stone from the start?

Absolutely fantastic listen
The great thing about Jane Casey’s writing is that she never disappoints. I await each new book in the Maeve Kerrigan series eagerly and then devour it far too quickly. This was a fabulous book, full of clever and unexpected twists and turns. The narration is absolutely spot on too. I can’t recommend this highly enough.

A new find
I bought this book on a 2for 1 offer and so pleased I did. Jane Casey is a new author for me and I look forward to reading the earlier books.
The plot was gripping although quite grim and I just worked out the ending 5 minutes before it was revealed.
The main character is admirable, and the relationship between her and her boss is tense wanting you to explore further.
Excellent narration, highly recommended.

Such a good series
However I do wish the author wouldn’t let MK keep going off on her own, without letting anyone know what she’s found out. It never ends well. Having said that I’m still looking forward to the next story!

Love it
I’ve listened to the series and I think I enjoyed this one the most. I really like the characters and although as thrillers tend to be, it’s a bit formulaic, it’s still gripping and rattled along at a rapid rate.

Excellent
Well written detective novel, not just a straightforward investigation, but a re-investigation of previous crimes. Characters and plot are believable and the narration is excellent. This series involving DS Maeve Kerrigan are ideal for lovers of good detective novels abs I look forward to the next one in the series.

Brilliant again
Really super book, one of my favourite Maeve Kerrigan books, it was nice to have a bit of reference to Rob other than Maeve moping around as I keep hoping they will get back together or she will move on
