About this listen
Despite his victory against the Guild, Kers soon learns that there is now an even greater target upon his cloudy back.
Typical.
Then there’s the small matter of Marwan, the Dark Lord who wants to take over the world, and the Jade Citadel sortie that is on the verge of collapsing. Not to mention the fact that he now has to ‘get along’ with his neighboring core and deal with a mysterious orca-like monster that has started flying nearby…
Oh, and he also has a new floor to generate and fill with fresh challenges and mobs. Yes, creepy dolls that wear your friends’ faces will be included. Also, mastodons.
Will Kers learn to fly and save those who plumb his… erm, heights? Or will he crash and burn, a victim of those he cares for?
Two things are certain; Selena will get her pizza and Kers will only get weirder.

Unconventional Brilliance
A great addition to the Rise of Kers. I love the inventiveness with the systems presented and the ways the system is broken. Also the real world influences (isekai) are refreshing as well.
My only real complaint is with the hero characters, I had a hard time following their pursuits as some of the names are similar.
Narration was impeccable as always.

The scope expands.
A fun listen following Kers and his evolution. The continuation from the previous entry brining the scale a lot bigger, no longer the story of a dungeon but that of the wider world.
SBT do a stunning job as ever. With my personal favourite voices being vex and medusa, the voices by Justin and Annie really bringing the characters to life!

It promised to get better and it did
I received free copy for an honest review.
I rate an audible book as does it keep my interest, does it make me want to keep coming back to or do I start other books while listening to it.
I listen to this throughout. My biggest issue was stopping to work or sleep! (But come that giant lottery win!). I also like that rather than one narrator there is a team, not chap trying to do a high pitched woman’s voice or a woman trying to do a base male - by having a team the narration comes more alive, keeping you more invested in the story.
Now the story! Spoiler alerts!
So carefully not to give much of the story away - the dark Lord is challenging the kingdoms. Kers gives sanctuary to Bancroft, who becomes a city! Together they rescue the nearby inhabitants when it gets over run and take to fight to the dark Lord.
BUT make sure you listen to end epilogues.. talk about being a tease! Gimme book 3 now!

Fantastic Sequel
After the good first book, I immediately listened to the second book. And what can I say? My expectations were once again exceeded.
While the writing style in the first book was initially a bit “flawed”, it’s clear here how much the author has improved. The individual characters have gained more depth, and their interactions have significantly improved. We delve deeper into the world and universe, while the scope broadens. Simultaneously, the story unfolds, culminating in an epic overarching plot. Even though the existing arc was excellently concluded with the finale, the book ends with a cliffhanger – leaving me wanting for more.
Once again, the world and characters are brought to life by the excellent narration of JTJ and the SBT cast. Justin truly outdid himself this time. The production quality itself is incredibly good, as expected from SBT.
Overall, the audiobook thoroughly impressed me, and I’m eagerly anticipating how the story will continue.

Brilliant Sequel
If you liked the first one, this is a great second book. Captivating plot (binged through in one go) and as always the audio production is incredible.

Great follow up and clearly more to come!
I really enjoyed listening to the first book, the performances were strong and the story really built throughout.
So I'd been excited for the second book to come out. First impressions, I was a little lost, (having listened to many other books while waiting for this telease) I couldn't 100% remember everything that had gone on. But within 30 minutes, I was back in the world of the cloud dungeon and this story just gets better and better as it goes along.
The audio performances are strong, with a wide variety of voices and a really good interpretation of the texts.
Thoroughly recommend (although if it has been a while since the first book, a little relisten may be beneficial).

Love the unique growth of the cast and especially Kers himself. Thanks to the Soundbooth gang for bringing it to life.
