Summary

'I, Danny Wallace, being of sound mind and body, do hereby write this manifesto for my life. I swear I will be more open to opportunity. I swear I will live my life taking every available chance. I will say Yes to every favour, request, suggestion and invitation. I WILL SWEAR TO SAY YES WHERE ONCE I WOULD SAY NO.'

Danny Wallace had been staying in. Far too much. Having been dumped by his girlfriend, he really wasn't doing the young, free and single thing very well. Instead he was avoiding people. Texting them instead of calling them. Calling them instead of meeting them. That is until one fateful date when a mystery man on a late-night bus told him to 'say yes more'. These three simple words changed Danny's life forever. Yes Man is the story of what happened when Danny decided to say YES to everything, in order to make his life more interesting. And boy, did it get more interesting.

This is the tie-in audiobook that goes with the 2008 film of the Danny Wallace book - Yes Man - starring Jim Carrey and Zooey Deschanel, which is being released by Warner Bros in December 2008.

I absolutely loved this

If you could sum up Yes Man in three words, what would they be?

Light-hearted and fun

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It was, I listed to the whole thing in under 24 hours, I absolutely loved it.

Any additional comments?

It's really charming and funny and definitely worth a listen.

You just need to say Yes to this book!

I’m a huge fan of Jim Carey, and the Movie Yes Man! And had no idea it was all from this perfect British Book (British because the author was born in Scotland)
I had a wonderful conversation with my Brother in Law and Sister- who after being influenced by this book threw in the towel on their fast paced London jobs, bought a rusty old camper van and went around Europe together. And still to this day- when an opportunity arises say to each other ... Yes Man?
Which more recently ended up in my sister going out for an all-nighter in Miami. She’s NOT normally like that!
A beautiful listen with a warm story which I will be revisiting again in twelve months time to see how I’ve got on!
After keeping a journal of where my Yes’s are taking me.
Currently- I’ve just been told off for writing this review at 21.38 on Saturday night after leaving paint to dry in streaks on the wall.

Not sure about life changing but....

It is definatley funny and well written. I really enjoyed it, I got this free with a offer from a newspaper promotion and had put off listening to it thinking I probably would not enjoy it that much, I did

Love this!

Firstly, the narration is absolutely brilliant. And I really enjoyed how Danny takes us through his experiment with saying Yes with humour, suspense and some genuine life changing insights. A great read and a wonderful philosophy when combined with learning when to say No will transform how we live and show up in the world.

An inspiring story

Danny Wallace delivers a funny and inspiring tale that makes me want to say 'yes' more. There are definitely some debatable and seemingly farfetched parts to the story but when you've finished listening you can't help but feel infected by his way of thinking. Wallace has convinced me.

Very original and Funny

I loved the story line. Danny has a unique style and it is funny. It is so fresh and original that a Hollywood film has been produced based on it with the same name "Yes man" acknowledging the idea from this book. I remained engrossed in it until I finished it and at no point it felt boring or repetitive. You are involved in Danny's world and not at any moment you sympathise with him. Even if you don't agree with him for the things he gets involved with in the story, you enjoy through his experiences. It makes you reflect on the life around you and invites you to embrace new challenges. There is an unexpected twist before the finale, which is beautifully drawn. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would love to listen to it again.

Loved it!

Really fun to listen to, great story, great message and fantastic narration by the writer himself. Nothing like the film but in a good way - completely different stories but based on the same premise.

...so loved the film! And promised I was going to read the book... does listening to audio count? story is way different from the movie, but I liked it! loved it even, got to say, it's a very passionately told story... I'd recommend it!
