Summary
Joe doesn't care about politics, or what happened. The grid is down, and every day is a struggle to survive. He just knows his world went to Hell when the EMPs ended life as he knew it. Joe scrambled to hide from all of the craziness, but kept his sanity, and improved his lot in life by reading some witty survival notes that his dead grandma had left him. She'd been a prepper all her life, and she had been close to Joe.
Joe grows and learns, but can he survive?
Listen to American Apocalypse Box Set, which includes books one through four of this survival series, to find out how a regular guy survives in a post-apocalyptic world.

Post Apocalyptic Louis L'Amour
AJ Newman is the post apocalyptic Louis L'Amour. That's the best compliment I can give him. I binged listened to this and couldn't stop. I felt the narration was a bit flat at times but it didn't affect the overall story..

A refreshing storyline (Books 1-4)
Have read a lot of these types of stories but I must admit I really enjoyed this one. The story is about normal people and how they react to the world going to sh*t. I can relate to the characters and this made it easier to get involved in the story.
The characters are portrayed as lower to middle class. It was refreshing to see how they reacted when there were no bathrooms. Giggled when they found toilet paper. The situation they found theirselves in and how they react to it was interesting.
The narrators did a fantastic job with all the accents. Got to admit my favorite was Grandma. She is a real firecracker.
Well worth the read. 5*****

Repative and single minded
This book is all about sex and rape. In atleast every chapter someone is being raped or is accusing someone of rape. All the villains are rapist or child molestors and the only good person has 3 different girlfriends in the first 3 chapters.
Now I'm all up for a good story with a balance of ramoace or sex scenes, sadly the author is either sick minded or has been a victim as this is just to much. After what must the 300th use of the word rape I have now deleted the book.

Oh dear, a manifesto for American Republicans
I guess this book is aimed at the sort of folk who are probably banged up in prison after last year's attack on the American Capitol Building. It has all the villains of the American right - FEMA (they're really slave traders who hold slave auctions), the liberals who wanted gun control, the management class, hell they're elitists who'd sell the good ole rednecks out for thirteen pieces of silver.
Joking aside this is an interesting insight into the survivalist movement, their motives, fears, and expectations. To live in a constant state of hypervigilance like this cannot do their health any good at all what with the deleterious effect it must have on their amygdalas squeezing out all that testerone.
